Fast fashion has fueled a culture of waste, with clothing often designed for short-term use and quickly discarded as trends change.

Circular fashion is reshaping the way we think about clothing. Whether it's repairing and upcycling well-loved pieces, shopping second-hand, or investing in sustainably made apparel, these choices help reduce textile waste and extend the life of the clothes we wear.

Choosing durable, sustainably made garments helps keep textiles out of landfill and valuable resources in circulation.

What a fantastic evening! 🧵♻️

Our Sewing Repair Workshop last night was a full house! There was lots of of learning, conversation, and hands-on practice as participants explored ways to repair clothing, extend the life of textiles, and reduce waste.

A huge thank you to Glady Knowles for sharing your knowledge, experience, and creative repair ideas. We learned so much from you!

Thank you as well to Divert NS for the support, prizes, and resources that helped make this Waste Reduction Week event a success.

And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success!

It’s Waste Reduction Week! ♻️

This week, we’re celebrating the many ways we can reduce waste and keep valuable resources in use for longer.

By swapping, sharing, thrifting and repairing, we can extend the life of the things we already have, reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and contribute to a more circular economy.
