One large door. Two smart solutions.

We recently helped Triple Three Trading Ltd. in Calgary improve loading dock efficiency and reduce winter heat loss by converting one oversized overhead door into two dedicated dock doors.

The new configuration features a trailer-specific dock door with dock seals and a separate door for local pickups and smaller vehicles. The result? Better traffic flow, improved energy efficiency, easier door operation, and lower maintenance requirements.

🚛 No loading dock? No problem.

Klearwater Equipment & Technologies was using a large ground-level overhead door to load and unload trailers. During the winter, that meant letting cold air into the facility and increasing heating demands.

Northern Dock Systems helped create a dedicated loading area with an exterior dock house, hydraulic dock leveler and high-lift overhead door.

The result is a dedicated dock-height loading area that improves efficiency, reduces winter heat loss, and makes loading and unloading easier.

Since installation, the system has worked smoothly and made day-to-day loading easier.

⚡ When two dock levelers went down, every minute of downtime mattered.

Our service team received the call at 11:55 a.m., had a technician on-site by 3:05 p.m., and restored both dock levelers to operation by 3:52 p.m.. Based on the technician's findings, Dock 13 had a disconnected lip lock chain and missing damper spring, while Dock 14 had an incorrect damper spring that was preventing proper operation.

Instead of waiting for the specialized replacement parts, our technician quickly diagnosed the issues, made the necessary adjustments, and safely returned both units to service during the initial visit. The correct replacement springs will be installed during a follow-up visit to ensure a permanent repair and help prevent future breakdowns.

At Northern Dock Systems, we focus on more than just fixing equipment. We prioritize getting our customers operational as quickly as possible while ensuring the right long-term solution is in place.

This project was a true team effort from start to finish. Our installation team recently completed a lift table, ramp, and edge-of-dock leveler installation at a retail store in Toronto, and the success of the project came down to one thing: teamwork.

A big shoutout to Wayne for not only helping lead the installation of a lift table, ramp, and edge-of-dock leveler at a retail store in Toronto, but also for taking the time to recognize the team that made it happen.

When challenges arose, the crew stepped up. Dave brought great ideas and problem-solving. Sam delivered her usual outstanding work. Brandon proved that together, we can move mountains. And Paul made sure no task or meeting call, was left behind!
