Our History
Arthur & Pat Harris have owned and operated driver training centers throughout British Columbia since 1975. They have always offered the best driver training programs available on the market, and previously operated as a franchisee of the premier branded driver training company across Canada – until the

y discovered the DriveWise training program, and they haven’t looked back! Winning many awards over the last 39 years in business, you can rest assured that DriveWise will provide the highest quality driver training that you expect. OLYMPIC TRAINING
In January 2010, DriveWise was chosen to train more than 4,000 volunteer drivers for the Olympic Winter Games held in Vancouver, BC – the only driving school in history to be given such an honor! Working hard in Vancouver and Whistler, the DriveWise team spent months ensuring media, athletes and their families were all safe on the roads during the 2010 Winter Games. DriveWise was selected for this contract because of our high quality of driver training, numerous years in the industry, as well as the driving simulators we are able to offer to all of our students. All of this adds up to our ability to properly train drivers so that they are prepared for any situation they may encounter on our BC roads. ICBC APPROVED
The DriveWise driver training programs are ICBC approved ensuring that our students meet the requirements and expectations of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia in order to obtain a valid BC drivers license.

Wondering what it’s like to drive an electric vehicle? βš‘πŸš—

Here are 4 things that surprise almost every first-time EV driver:

β—Ύ You simply press the brake and hit Start, no traditional engine startup.
πŸ”• It's so quiet, you’ll hardly notice it’s on
πŸ’¨ Acceleration is incredibly smooth because the engine is gearless.
🫰 After just ten minutes, most drivers find it becomes second nature

Whether you're learning to drive for the first time or you're just curious about EVs, getting behind the wheel is the best way to experience the difference.
We're excited to be bringing additional electric vehicle training to our students here in BC, and we can't wait for you to try it.

Have you ever driven an EV, or would your first time be during a driving lesson? Let us know in the comments! πŸ‘‡

πŸŽ‰The wait is over! ❌ ICBC has officially removed the class 5 road test for anyone in BC trying to get their drivers license.

🚘Safety is still a top priority! That's why ICBC has implemented a probationary period as well as other restrictions to help keep our roads accident free.

➑Swipe to find out how these changes will effect your driving journey.

Do you think these changes are good for new drivers in BC? Let us know in the comment!

πŸš— Pull In or Reverse In? Which team are you on? πŸ‘‡

Here's the answer: Reverse stall parking is generally the safer option. By backing into a parking space, you'll have better visibility when it's time to leave, making it easier to spot pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles.

That said, pull-in parking still has its place. It's a great choice when you're in a hurry, parking briefly, or when reversing into a busy lot isn't practical. Just remember that backing out requires extra caution because your view is more limited.

🚘 No matter which method you choose, the key is to:
βœ”οΈ Check your mirrors and blind spots.
βœ”οΈ Drive slowly in parking lots.
βœ”οΈ Be aware of pedestrians and other drivers.

So... what's your preference? Tell us why in the comments! πŸ‘‡

A kind, supportive learning environment can make all the difference when you're learning to drive. πŸ‘

One of our students shared this wonderful feedback:

"I booked three lessons with Drive Wise and each instructor I had made me feel comfortable and relaxed for my lesson. I tend to have anxiety over my driving, so their kind approach really helped with my confidence. Overall a very positive experience!" πŸ™Œ

We're grateful to be part of so many driving journeys and proud to help students gain confidence behind the wheel, one lesson at a time. 🌱

Thank you Kayla, for your thoughtful review and for choosing Drive Wise! If you're looking for patient, encouraging driving instruction, we'd love to help you get started.

Find out which is better for learning to drive: β›½ Gas or Electric?πŸ”Œ The answer may surprise you. Ev's are reshaping how new driver's learn behind the wheel. 🌱

At DriveWise we recommend experiencing both. Building confidence in both helps prepare you for whatever you may drive in the future.

Read our latest blog to discover how EV's are reshaping driver education and what every new driver should know. πŸ’‘

Learning to drive has always meant learning one thing: how to operate a gas powered vehicle. The sounds, vibrations, gear changes, and fueling routines have become so familiar that most people assume driving itself will always feel this way.

Sharing the road is a responsibility we all have!
Whether you're behind the wheel or riding an e-bike or e-scooter, defensive driving and riding can help prevent crashes and keep everyone safe.
βœ”οΈ Drivers: Slow down, check your blind spots, signal your turns, and give riders plenty of space.
βœ”οΈ E-bike & e-scooter riders: Stay visible, follow traffic rules, signal your intentions, and stay alert.
