El 16 de julio celebramos la festividad de Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Es una de las tradiciones marineras y religiosas más importantes, especialmente en España y Latinoamérica, donde es conocida como la "Estrella de los Mares" y patrona de los pescadores.
La procesión marítima es un espectáculo único por su vistosidad: Las embarcaciones se engalanan con banderas y adornos florales y acompañan al barco que porta la talla de la virgen en procesión.
Este año, en A Illa de Arousa, se celebra el sábado 18 de julio y el encargado de portar la imagen de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, así como a sus marineros, es este precioso bateeiro de más de 22 metros de eslora, el "Cobecho Tres".

Felices Fiestas del Carmen
On July 16th, we celebrate "Carmen". It is one of the most significant maritime and religious traditions—particularly in Spain and Latin America—where she is known as the "Star of the Sea" and the patron of fishermen.
The maritime procession is a spectacular sight: vessels are decked out with flags and floral decorations as they accompany the boat carrying the statue of the Virgin.
This year in A Illa de Arousa, the celebration takes place on Saturday, July 18th. The vessel chosen to carry the image —along with the sailors—is the "Cobecho Tres," a magnificent mussel-farming boat measuring over 22 meters in length.
It was a pleasure having the boat at our facilities :)
