North American P-51D Mustang “Marinell” 🇺🇸

Captured at Air Legend, Melun-Villaroche, France 🇫🇷 — a legendary WWII fighter that continues to grace the skies more than 80 years later. 🛩️

Its polished aluminium skin, iconic USAAF markings and unmistakable Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine make it a true masterpiece of aviation history. ⚙️🔥

“Marinell” (serial number 44-13521) served with the USAAF during WWII before being shot down over northern France in August 1944. Restored decades later, it returned to the skies in 2008.

Today, the Mustang is flown by its owner, British aerobatic pilot Isabel Rutland, keeping this remarkable piece of history alive for a new generation. ❤️
