Un tour de l’île de Ré entre frères… et un record au bout.
Aujourd’hui, on s’est lancé autour de l’île de Ré en wingfoil.
34,58 milles nautiques, 1 h 37 min 16 s, 21,34 nœuds de moyenne.
Le départ n’a pas été très académique : Pierre tombe environ 30 secondes après le départ, Thomas chute deux fois dans les premiers kilomètres. Bref, tout allait parfaitement bien.
Au nord de l’île, la mer était vraiment compliquée, avec 15 à 18 nœuds de vent et un gros clapot. Il fallait surtout rester propre, ne pas casser le rythme et continuer à avancer.
Après les Baleines, changement d’ambiance : mer plus plate, 20 à 25 nœuds de vent, et beaucoup plus de vitesse. On a pu vraiment dérouler, avec des pointes proches de 27 nœuds jusqu’à l’arrivée.
Au final, un nouveau temps de référence autour de l’île de Ré, mais surtout une grosse aventure partagée entre frères.

A lap around Île de Ré with my brother… and a record at the finish.
Today, we went for a full wingfoil lap around Île de Ré.
34.58 nautical miles, 1h 37m 16s, 21.34 knots average.
The start was not exactly clean: Pierre crashed around 30 seconds after the start, and Thomas fell twice in the opening kilometres. So far, so good.
North of the island, the sea was rough and chaotic, with 15–18 knots of wind and heavy chop. The main goal was simply to stay on the foil, keep the pace and avoid giving away too much time.
After passing Les Baleines, everything changed: flatter water, 20–25 knots of wind, and much more speed. We could finally push properly, with top speeds close to 27 knots all the way to the finish.
In the end, a new benchmark around Île de Ré, but above all a great adventure shared as brothers.
