Mitsubishi outlander phev 2015
Had a series of typical faults: rear earth strap, loose rear electric engine mount and a seized caliper pins-one was so bad that even with torch the pin snapped in caliper carrier. Calipers change was more of a preventive maintenance as the existing ones were getting really rusty and bad around pistons and they are known to seize too. It happens because in hybrid most of the braking is regenerative and it doesn't use brakes and over time from lack of use they are starting to seize.

Also I've done a service and changed a axillary battery.

Caliper seized, pedal to the metal! 🫣😅

Hi. I'm selling my work van if anyone is interested pm me.

£5500
It's a 1.6 TDI long base, crew cab, remmaped to 145hp, 114000 miles. Mechanics car for my mobile mechanics business.

Serviced every 5-6k miles. Recent full service.

Loads of parts changed-two new injectors s suffix from dark side, new VW leak off pipe. New Napa alternator, apec clutch,Sachs slave and master cylinder done in November (at the same time clenead DPf from ash mass and painted subframe and suspension elements), apec black pads and blue discs front -very good condition, 1 year old rear pads, discs and calipers. Touran wheels(recently I've put Bridgestone all weather on the front and I have ~4mm two spare summer tires), also have the previous steel wheels with two good tyres.

Inside alpine speakers all around, vibe 4 channel amp and a 12" subwoofer with inbuilt 1000w sub, radio RCD 360(it was about £1000 in materials in audio)with wired reverse camera from third light. Also changed front left bottom arm, antirollbar links.

Comes with a spare injector(used).

Bad bits- drivers door lacquer has peeled off.

Air conditioning works but condenser is missing a lot of teeth?(I forgot how do you call that)and compressor is a bit noisy but holds pressure and works. One of the pulleys squiks on a cold start for half a minute( it's been doing that for a while but I can get it sorted. Paintwork is ok for a van but not great.

All work I've done myself to proper quality as I love this van. The only reason I'm selling it as I've outgrown it's size.

Honda CR-V with "full service" history. I haven't seen this bad air filter on cars where it wasn't changed in 40000 miles.
When it comes too metal in the oil filter that was the worst I've seen yet! Car was running rough and will need a new engine unfortunately.
What has caused it? Probably oil dilution.
I've pulled nearly 9l of oil instead of ~5.
On 2.2 crvs if you do short journeys, car is is dumping extra diesel to help burn all the soot in the DPF but if you stop the car, all that fuel goes down to oil pan. Eventually the oil is so diluted it doesn't protect the engine from wear and a catastrophic engine wear can occur.
The only way to deal with it is either to make sure you do longer journeys frequently or change your oil way earlier (I had a crv and changed it after 3k miles once, due to my wife doing nursery runs).

Customer hired me to replace his egr valve on his BMW.

When I came the car wouldn't start. There was loads of oil by the intake to turbo pipe also the egr to egr pressure sensor pipe was missing and inlet on the sensor was melted away!

I didn't want ti just change egr as I knew it wouldn't solve the issues.

I took the intake pipe and there was a lot of oil and play in the turbo- turbo was gone. I wanted to check the health of the engine at this point because it didn't look very promising so used easy start to get it going but the engine didn't sound healthy and was struggling to keep going for longer than 2 seconds.

Then I pulled the oil filter out and cut it open.
The result is in the video- full of metal particles!

That just confirmed that the engine was gone.
It could be fuel pump failure which bombed the engine with metal( quite common issue on BMW)or piston failure but at this point it was game over for this 2009 BMW.
To fix that it would need a new engine, turbo and potentially the whole fuel system replaced.
Easy few thousands or more.

Regarding the egr valve- I pulled it out just to show my customer- it was clean. But needless to say I didn't replace it and didn't charge for replacement either.

A bit unusual work. 12V electric system wiring in it: solar panels, lights, charge controller, battery, fuses, switch ect. On a static "caravan".
I must say I did enjoy that job!

Car has passed an MOT without and advisories!

This is a Flexi brake line for the front brakes, if it burst you would lose majority of your brakes!
It could have end in a serious accident!

It makes me think that the MOT tester didn't look at the car at all as there was also a rear caliper failure, no pad material left and a warped disc.
