Russ’s Reflections – National Series 2025/26 ⛵
Five events, countless miles travelled, every type of weather imaginable, and more bacon rolls than I’d care to admit!
From limit pushing conditions at Draycote, frozen fingers in Weymouth, sailors finding their confidence at Rutland, parents becoming full-time TracTrac analysts at Hayling, and a thrilling series finale at Grafham, it’s been an incredible National Series.
What has impressed me most isn’t just the racing—it’s the friendships, sportsmanship, determination, and willingness of sailors to help each other both on and off the water.
A huge thank you to all the sailors, parents, volunteers, race teams, and host clubs who make it all possible. Watching sailors grow in confidence and achieve their goals is what makes this role so rewarding.
Now, after five fantastic events, I think we’ve all earned a lie down… although I suspect most of you are already thinking about the next regatta!
See you on the circut and good luck to everyone heading to Quiberon! 🇫🇷⛵
