Today's ‘simple’ job…replace a starter motor. 2018 Mercedes Vito with a 1.6 Renault engine in. Enough said 🇫🇷 🤡

Step 1: Remove the front bumper.
Step 2: Remove the headlights.
Step 3: Remove half the front end of the van.
Step 4: Question all of life's choices.
Step 5: Finally get to the starter motor tucked away and hiding away from sight

Whoever decided this was a good idea clearly never had to work on it! 😂

New starter fitted, van put back together and starting perfectly again, and another happy customer back on the road 🚗

Big thanks to one of the longtime friends of the garage who randomly turned up today with… a pet fish 😂🐟

Not entirely sure how we’ve gone from timing belts and brake pads to aquarium maintenance, but here we are.

The newest member of the team has settled into his new home after temporarily being put in the Snap-on parts jar while we sourced a suitable tank 😎

Today’s job was proudly sponsored by a previous local garage and their apparently world-record-setting impact gun set to ‘destroy’

Customer came in for what should’ve been a simple job… until we tried removing the wheel nuts and discovered they’d been tightened to approximately 4,000Nm by Thor himself ⚡️

Reality?
SNAP.
SNAP.
…and another SNAP.

All 5 wheel studs sheared off because the wheels had been over tightened far beyond what any human, vehicle manufacturer, or laws of physics would recommend 🙈

After most of the day fighting with it, drilling everything out, (a lot of swearing) and replacing the damaged parts, it’s finally sorted properly and safely back on the road with the new wheel bolts torqued to the correct manufacturers setting! ⚙️

Another car back on the road and one more happy customer ⭐

This car came in with a noisy water pump caused by a failed bearing

We replaced the faulty water pump and replenished the cooling system with fresh coolant before a quick bleed and a run up to temperature to check everything was okay. Job done! Everything was running smoothly before any further damage could be caused 🔧🚗

Another happy customer back on the road 🚗🔧�
Clutch and flywheel replacement completed today and the cars back driving like new again. We also fit a set of front brake pads and carried out an oil and filter change to this vehicle while we had it in our care. Thanks for trusting us with your vehicle!

Another one in the workshop today that honestly left us speechless 😳

Customer came in with an unrelated issue, however, while inspecting the car, we discovered the previous garage had fitted the wheel nuts on….BACKWARDS 🤦‍♂️ 🤡

This isn’t just poor workmanship — it’s dangerous. Thankfully we caught it before it became a much bigger, potentially serious problem. Everything corrected and fitted properly 👍
