North Devon Classic Cars are proud to have for sale a great quality Morris Minor Traveller dating from 1968 and showing 15,000 miles since a £16,000 rebuild was carried out in 2014, with just 4 former keepers, the last for 10 years.
As you'd expect there was a lot of value added to the car at that time - a 1,275cc engine was fitted, along with a 5-speed gearbox, a 3.9 differential, front disc brakes and the larger wheels and tyres from the Minor van of the period.
The wood was all replaced at the same time and the shell was completely resprayed. The car has done little mileage since then, reflected in the condition it is now in. There are a few stone chips that have been touched up here and there and being super fussy the grille could be resprayed.
We have replaced the right hand rear corner post and two back doors due to some rot beginning in these areas. Otherwise, we have fitted a new distributor (still on points) and cleaned & rebuilt the carb. The car has also been serviced, tuned and valve clearances/timing set to factory specs.
Inside, the seats have been upgraded (Alfa Romeo possibly?), along with new carpets throughout and inertia reel seatbelts in the front.
On the road the Traveller is willing and stable, with strong brakes and excellent cruising ability thanks to the 5th gear and differential upgrade. A new battery has been fitted by us also.
Ready for its new owner to add many miles to it in the pursuit of happy motoring, this Traveller harks back to a bygone era, but can still cut it in the modern world. The best of both?
The Moggy has an MOT to November 2026 (with no advisories), but is registered historic, so tax and MOT exempt.
