One of the most common questions we hear is: "Which car is best for a swivel seat?"

In our latest guest article, the vehicle adaptation specialists at Mobility in Motion explain why there’s no single "best car" for a swivel seat. Factors such as door opening size, seat height, interior space and, most importantly, your individual mobility needs all play a vital role in finding the right solution.

Announcement for customers in Scotland.

While the July 2026 Motability changes are going ahead elsewhere in the UK, Scottish customers on the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme (AVES) ordering after 1 July 2026 will continue to receive:

πŸ”Ή 20,000 miles per year (instead of 10,000)
πŸ”Ή Excess mileage charged at 5p per mile (instead of 25p)
πŸ”Ή More tyre replacements included
πŸ”Ή No charge for taking a vehicle abroad

Discussions are ongoing, but for now Scotland remains on the previous package while the rest of the UK moves to the new rules.

The continuation of these benefits is being funded through a one-off discretionary grant from the Motability Foundation.

Do you think this is fair? Should Motability customers across the UK receive the same package?

⚑ Home EV charging is taxed at 5% VAT.

⚑ Public EV charging is taxed at 20% VAT.

Campaigners say this unfairly penalises EV drivers who don't have access to off-street parking where a home charger can be installed.

For many disabled motorists who don't have a driveway, home charging simply isn't an option.

Is it fair that EV drivers who rely on public chargers pay a VAT rate four times higher than those who can charge at home?

🏁 Not every car has to be sensible...

231 BHP. 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds. Genuine hot hatch performance.

The MINI John Cooper Works isn't the sort of car many people expect to see on the Motability Scheme, but it's proof that Motability isn't just about practicality.

Would you choose the JCW, or is driving performance one of the last things you consider when choosing a Motability car?
