🌿 Creating a Home for Nature 🌿

This week we were delighted to welcome Jenni from the David Bellamy Pledge for Nature for our annual site visit and to share everything we’ve been working on as part of this year’s Home Sweet Home wildlife challenge.

From robin, treecreeper and swift nest boxes to butterfly houses and hedgehog homes, we’ve been busy creating new habitats across Bank Farm to help support our local wildlife.

We’ve also created a wildlife trail map so you can explore the park and see if you can find each of our new habitats. Keep your eyes peeled, you might even spot some of our newest residents! 🐦🦔🦋

A huge thank you to everyone taking part in Bank Farm in Bloom too. It’s been fantastic seeing so many of you creating wildlife-friendly pitches this summer.

With the hot weather we’ve been having lately, Shaisey is sharing a helpful little hack that every egg lover should know, for checking whether your chicken and duck eggs are fresh and good to eat!☀️

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting Shaisey’s egg hut. With our new chickens settling in there should be plenty available over the coming weeks.

Fresh chicken and duck eggs can be found at the top of the animal pen… perfect for cooking up your own Bank Farm breakfast 🍳💛

🦆💛 The cutest Bank Farm surprise…

For the past few weeks, our rescue mallard Daisy has been sitting patiently on some of her eggs, and instead of collecting them, we decided to let nature take its course and see what would happen.

Well… last night she surprised us all by hatching SIX beautiful ducklings! 🥹

As you can see from Shaisey’s reaction, this was a pretty special moment. In fact, she was so excited she didn’t even stop to get changed out of her school uniform before running down to the animal pen!

Welcome to the world, little ones 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

We can’t wait to watch them grow up here at Bank Farm.💛
