Bertie’s Restoration

Came into the workshop with some very suspect welding and patches. We were genuinely quite shocked that the previous welder had tried to hide all this and said it had been done properly to the owner.

Along with all the welding shown above
Bertie chose our gold underbody package.
More detail shown on website.
(not officially launched yet)

The gold underbody package includes:

•Removing of all subframes and arms, and then powder coating them in your desired colour.

•Your choice of all new bushings.

•New inner and outer track rods, upper and lower ball joints, drop links and camber bolts.

•All underseal to be removed and underbody treated with a rust converter, then followed by Buzzweld 2K epoxy primer.

•Redo all the seam sealer, and add a fresh coat of Dinitrol 4941 underbody wax.

The car is now off for a full respray, then coming back to us to finish off the last few things.

Sophie’s passenger side fixed. Inner and outer rear sill and quarter Along with patches underneath, cam belt water pump and seals changed, a fresh service, a new set of rubber and an mot to finish it off

My second event was at Blyton park. First sprint of the year. first time sleeping in the van and towing the car. Was an awesome track,very fast in places! Glad there were run offs on the corners as you’ll see🤣 nice to get another win 🏆

Brought this car last year from a guy down the road. Had been stored away for 8 years.
It’s now been brought back to life 🙂
Overall she’s pretty good,drive well.A few small dents and scratches, to be expected with age.
Lots of work been done to it over the last 6 months ⬇️

Mechanical work
Full cam belt and water pump kit.
Cam seals x2.
New thermostat o-ring and gasket.
New front crank seal.
Cas o-ring.
New rocker cover gasket.

Full service
Oil and filter.
Spark plugs
Air filter
Fuel filter
Daisy wheels refurbed

Welding.
It’s had most of a new rear quarter panel on the drivers side and some patches in the rear arch at the top of the sill end plate.
Passenger side had a patch on the bottom outer sill. It’s also had previous welding work done on the inner rear sill.
Both front wheel arches have had small patches about half way up wheel arch close to where you feet would be.
Both rear quaters have been resprayed.
All my welding is cleaned,treated,anti rust primed,seam sealed and then underseald.
I have more photos if you’re genuinely interested.

Underbody.
The lose underseal was removed. surface rust was taken away and treated. Then a fresh layer of underseal on top to keep things nice.

The subframes,arms,hubs,anti roll bars were and wire brushed and treated with lanoguard protection.

It has been an experience going from spectating as a child at Shelsley Walsh to going along for a members days, to actually building myself a car over the last year to take part in the hill climbs, to then come first in my group. Really looking forward to many more events.
