Bad news I'm afraid everyone, I've broken my ankle!!!

Its early days so I'm unable to say for sure just how long I'll be out of action, the fracture clinic today estimated 6 weeks to be fully healed and no need for surgery at the moment.

I plan on starting small repairs as and when I can, all depending on my mobility and pain levels.

I will post an update after my next fracture clinic appointment next Thursday keeping you all in the loop.

I'm really sorry any inconvenience and delays that this has caused.

This was a challenge to say the least upper timing chain failure on an old 2001 2.2 DTI Vauxhall Frontera, resulting in piston to valve contact smashing two camshaft followers.

The sump was removed and cleaned of all the foreign debri from all the chain guide breakages, followed by a total strip down and clean out of the timing case.

Finally the repair was completed using new camshaft followers, an SKF timing chain kit replacing, 2 chains, 4 guides, 2 chain tensioners, 1 camshaft sprocket and lots on new bolts etc.

All topped off with genuine new old stock Vauxhall gaskets, a new oil filter and fully synthetic engine oil.

One very sweet sounding classic on its way back home! 😀😀😀😀
