This is why unlike our competitors; we will get to the route of the problem as well as set about repairing it. We do not simply fit new parts and send you on your way, we’ll find out what went wrong in order to minimise the risk of it reoccurring. Any fi

tter with basic understanding of a car can fit a new part, but it takes a time-served mechanic to diagnose what caused the part to fail and how to stop it happening again. ⚡ AUDI E-TRON ELECTRIC DRIVE MOTOR FAILURE ⚡

This Audi e-tron has unfortunately suffered a failure of its front electric drive motor, and our investigation has revealed what appears to be significant water contamination within the motor assembly.

As part of Audi's maintenance schedule, these motors have a service procedure that requires them to be drained and inspected. Under normal circumstances, only a very small amount of residue should be present.

However, when Kev removed the drain plug on this vehicle, a substantial amount of contaminated fluid poured out of the motor. This suggests that the required maintenance may not have been carried out during previous servicing, allowing moisture and contamination to build up over time.

The result? A failed electric drive motor and a repair bill of approximately **£10,000**.

💰 That's an expensive consequence for what is essentially a preventative maintenance item.

🔧 This is a reminder that EVs still require regular servicing and maintenance.
⚡ Electric vehicles may have fewer moving parts than traditional vehicles, but they are certainly not maintenance-free.
🚗 Missing key service requirements can lead to major component failures and eye-watering repair costs.

🔊 Noisy Fan Belt? Don't Ignore It!

That squealing or chirping noise from under the bonnet might seem like a minor annoyance, but it could be warning you of a much bigger problem.

A frayed or damaged auxiliary (fan) belt can eventually fail completely, potentially leading to:

⚠️ Loss of battery charging
⚠️ Loss of power steering assistance
⚠️ Engine overheating
⚠️ Breakdown at the roadside
⚠️ Expensive secondary damage to pulleys, tensioners, and other components

The belt in the photo was only moments away from complete failure. Had it snapped, the customer could have been left stranded and facing a much larger repair bill.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the motor trade is that if a job looks simple, it must be quick.

The reality? Modern vehicles are packed tighter than ever. What sounds like a 60-second task can involve removing covers, trim panels, airboxes, undertrays, brackets and half a dozen components just to gain access to the part you're actually trying to reach.

Sometimes we're balancing across engine bays, lying upside down, squeezing our arms through gaps that seem physically impossible, or spending longer gaining access than replacing the actual component!

It's not just about turning a spanner – it's years of experience, specialist tools, technical knowledge and knowing the safest and most efficient way to get the job done properly.
