🚨 UK Drivers Getting Ripped Off at the Pump – Thanks to Miliband’s “Don’t Drill” Madness While America Fills Up Cheap! 🚗💸

Wake up Britain – we’re being hammered while the US laughs all the way to cheaper fuel. Ed Miliband’s stubborn refusal to issue new North Sea oil & gas licences is pure ideological self-harm that’s keeping our prices sky-high. Here’s the brutal comparison (mid-June 2026 averages):

- UK: ~155–158p per litre (~£7.05–£7.20 per UK gallon)
- USA: ~106p per litre equivalent (~$1.06 USD/L or $4.00–$4.05 per US gallon – roughly half what we pay)

- UK: ~175–176p per litre (~£7.95–£8.00 per UK gallon)
- USA: ~134p per litre equivalent (~$1.34 USD/L or $5.06 per US gallon – still far cheaper than our punishing rates)

We’re paying DOUBLE (or more) for the same fuel. Why? America drills, fracks, and produces like mad – keeping costs down despite global oil prices. The UK slaps on 52.95p/L fuel duty + 20% VAT, restricts our own North Sea resources, and imports more from abroad.

Plus, America ships LNG over to us – we then regasify it here. Even some supply chains have indirect links via blending hubs like Egypt (which imports Russian oil and has been used as a transit/blending point in the past). Yet Miliband’s policy? Ban new exploration licences, keep existing fields ticking over at best, and chase net zero dreams while drivers and families suffer.

Result: Lost jobs in Aberdeen, billions in missed tax revenue, greater reliance on foreign (often dirtier or less secure) supply, and you paying through the nose every time you fill up. This isn’t green heroism; it’s economic vandalism that makes energy security worse and bills higher.

Prices have dropped a bit recently due to falling global oil – but the structural UK penalty remains massive. Supermarkets shave a few pence, but the gap with America is glaring.
