For all the loyal petrol heads that follow us we need to apologise! …… We’ve realised that we haven’t been showing you any of the recent tuning work or dyno action! 🙀

We’ll kick things off with a look at one of this weeks jobs - a stock to stage 2 RS3 8V2 😍

What a horrible job!

This vehicle came in with what looked like a blowing exhaust manifold gasket, but after the exhaust manifold had been removed we could see that the cause of the blow was a warped and corroded manifold, along with some broken exhaust studs.

Typically the studs had broken off flush to the head face, so out came our drill jig (made in house) - with a slight modification to the jig we were able to drill out the offending items with the engine still in place, then retap to a lager size which allowed us to fit helicoil inserts. While we were there we replaced all of the other exhaust manifold studs to prevent further failures.

The manifold was whisked off to our local engineering shop for a skim before being refitted with hardware and gaskets 🔧

Another transporter in need of repair! 🔧

This T5 came into us a while ago for an engine - at the time we noted the start of a noisy/failing gearbox. Roll onto now - after a few road trips/holidays and the van was back with us, making some less than desirable noises!

Gearbox out, oil drained and it was time to get stuck into a full strip down/inspection.

The casings were carted off to our friends at Auto Engineering for a repair to the worn socket which housed the failed bearing.

Back in the workshop the bearings were changed and shimmed, everything was cleaned and prepped ready for reassembly.

Wi the ‘box reassembled and back in the van it was into the extended road test to make sure everything was tickety boo 👌🏻

It’s been a busy time for us lately, both in the workshop and at home - but we’re still here doing our thing, trying our best to give our customers the best results we can 😉

Speaking of results…. hylandmotorsport (aka Corey Webber) had another fantastic weekend racing at Castle Combe on the hottest weekend of the year so far!

Another dominating weekend saw the Corey and his Honda Civic perform another clean sweep:

Qualified P1
Race 1 P1
Race 2 P1
Fastest lap in both races!

6 races, 6 trophies, 6 fastest laps 🏆

It’s now the long summer break so we’ll be seeing it in the rollers for testing and a giving the engine a proper going over to make sure it’s happy for the rest of the season….. keep an eye out for more results from the hylandmotorsport team soon 😎

It’s always great to be involved with the hylandmotorsport team - to see them repeatedly putting the car on the top spot using one of our engines is the icing on the cake 🎂

More news from this years motorsport calendar! 🏆 🏁

One of our long term loyal customers (one of the originals from when we first opened!) made a return to the podium in the Production GTi championship - after a few seasons of mid pack racing and an unreliable end to 2025, the car (a mk5 Gti) was treated to a suspension overhaul, engine software, replacement suspension bushes, a full geo and some general TLC/repairs.

The first outing of the season was full of disappointment when the ecu played up, but with a replacement ecu flashed with performance software and sent out in the post…. It was straight to the podium addo402!

If you’ve got a mk5 Gti and fancy going toe to toe with like minded enthusiasts, get in touch with Production GTi to take part in a one make series with some talented racers!

We wish Adam and Production GTi the best of luck for the rest of the 2026 season!

Another world first from the team at Ecotune 😎

Monday saw the planets align for s222_wrd as he piloted the powered A3 8v (4port 1.8 TSI) into the hallowed realm of the 9 second 1/4 mile….. fast and furious have nothing on this 😜

We hope to catch up with the Ecotune team later this year for some 1/4 mile madness. 😮‍💨

Another fantastic result for hylandmotorsport!

Last weekend saw hylandmotorsport enjoy another weekend of 1st’s …..
Qualifying… P1
Race 1 …….. P1
Race 2 ……. (After a serious brown pant moment) - P1!
Fastest lap - completed it
Class lap record - yep, took that too!

We’re loving seeing Corey working his race craft and making awesome progress this season in his Honda civic Type R…..powered by by an engine lovingly built by us 😍

These guys are always a pleasure to work with and we look forward to doing more with them ❤️

Wow! Where has the time gone?! 🙀

10 years ago today we opened the roller shutters to the public for the first time - our freshly refurbed little unit on the other side of town - how things have changed now!

Looking back we’ve done some pretty cool things, completed some crazy projects and developed our skill set, along with increasing our staffing and our equipment hugely.

With a well equipped workshop and fabrication centre, rolling road cell, engine building room and more - we can now complete almost every aspect of your build …. in house!

We’ve been fortunate to have great customers and some great working relationships with our suppliers and technical partners - without you all we wouldn’t be able to do what we do!
