This one is incredibly special.

Lauren first came to Vern before Learn with Vern was thing.

What followed wasn't a story of struggling to drive. It was a story of life happening.

Children arrived. Family commitments changed. Priorities shifted. Lessons would stop, months would pass, sometimes longer, and driving would have to take a back seat.

But there was one thing that never changed.

Every time life settled down enough for Lauren to start driving again, she'd come back.

Over and over again, she kept coming back and picking up where we'd left off.

That level of determination deserves huge respect.

Today, despite the nerves and despite a few tears along the way, Lauren showed exactly what she's capable of and walked away with a 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦.

Driving with the girls in the back. Driving with Dad. Juggling lessons around everything else life could throw at her.

And today, it all paid off.

As an instructor, moments like this mean a lot. Not just because of the result, but because you've been part of someone's journey for so many years.

Lauren, thank you for always trusting me to help you get there.

I'm unbelievably proud of you.

A huge congratulations to Sinead, who passed her driving test 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 today in Taunton with Beki and officially takes possession of the coveted plate! 👏

Passing first time is always something special, but what makes it even more rewarding is knowing the hard work, determination and commitment that happens long before test day arrives.

Every lesson, every challenge overcome, every moment of self-doubt pushed through has led to this moment.
Today wasn't about luck.

It was about preparation, persistence and believing in yourself when things felt difficult.

Now comes the best part...

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐃𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄? 🚗

Following distance is one of the simplest ways to stay safe on the road, yet it's something many drivers get wrong.

The Highway Code recommends leaving at least a 2-second gap between you and the vehicle in front in dry conditions. If the roads are wet, double it to 4 seconds. In ice, snow or poor visibility, leave even more.

A simple way to check your gap is to pick a stationary point at the side of the road. When the vehicle in front passes it, say to yourself:

"Only a fool breaks the two-second rule."

You should be reaching the same point as you finish the phrase. It's perfectly okay to be further back. It's not okay to be closer.

🚨 The bit most people get REALLY wrong...

When you're stationary or moving very slowly in traffic, leave enough space so that you can still see the rear tyres of the vehicle in front touching the road surface.

Not only does this give you room to manoeuvre if somebody breaks down, but it also creates space to help emergency vehicles get through.

Giving yourself more time and space means more time to react, smoother driving and less chance of becoming involved in a collision.

Safe driving isn't just about passing a test. It's about building habits that keep you and everyone around you safe for life. 🚗

A huge well done to Kira, who passed her driving test today with Beki! 👏

Whilst this wasn't Kira's first test, it was her first test with Beki, and what a difference a few weeks can make. From feeling nervous and uncertain at roundabouts to driving with confidence, control and belief in her own ability, Kira has worked incredibly hard to achieve this result.

Passing a driving test is about so much more than a certificate. It's about building confidence, developing new skills and proving to yourself what you're capable of. Kira has done exactly that and should be immensely proud of herself.

Enjoy the freedom, independence and all the opportunities that come with having that full licence. You've earned every bit of it!

Kara started her lessons with us on her birthday and today she passed her driving test 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 in Taunton with Ainsley.

The early starts were worth it. Kara put in the work, listened, learned and kept moving forward, and today it all came together with that fantastic result.
