The Police are now saying if you see a dog locked in a car in hot weather, take a picture of the dog and the car. If someone is with you, get them to bring up the weather for your area on their phone so you can screen shot the temp, THEN break the car window. This way, you will not be charged with criminal damage and it gives the police photo evidence to take the dog owners to court.

A huge thank you to all our customers who visited us during the Whitsun half-term. It has been such a lovely week, welcoming so many wonderful people enjoying the Bude Canal,

We are especially grateful to those of you who have been coming back year after year – some families have been visiting for generations, and your continued support means so much to us.

Bude Rowing Boats has been part of the Bude Canal for over 100 years, dating back to the 1920s, and we're proud to continue this special tradition for both locals and visitors alike.

We hope you all enjoyed your time on the canal and made some wonderful memories. Thank you for your support, your smiles, and for making this half-term so special. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! πŸš£πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Launching a craft (including a canoe and kayak) on the Bude Canal? Please make sure you have a valid Day Permit or Seasonal Permit (available to buy online before launching any craft on the Bude Canal).

⚠️ The Bailiff has noticed that a number of canal users are still using expired permits. Seasonal Permits purchased before April 2026 expired on 31 March. Please remember to renew and purchase your 2026/27 permit before your next visit.

Your permit fees help support the maintenance and management of the canal, keeping this special waterway accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Permits are sold by VisitBude/Bude TIC, on behalf of Cornwall Council. Purchase online or find out more at: https://www.visitbude.info/purchase-a-permit-to-use-the-bude-canal/
