Car Boot Sales are held every Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday from April to the end of October, Weather permitting. Sellers may set up from 10.00am
Cars £7, Transits £12, L.Vans £15
EARLY BUYERS £5 PER ADULT FROM 10.30am
Main Crowd of Buyers from 1.00pm at the earliest. Admission by donation to Stratton Hospital if desired. Opening again Easter Sunday March 31st and Easter Monday April 1st

Checking the weather forecast around 11.45pm Saturday thinking should be okay. Then looking again 5am Sunday Met Office worse, BBC rain late afternoon. Should have cancelled! But we had decided to open. Knowing by 9.30am regular sellers were not going to chance it. But the 93 sellers that sold today without getting wet gave the eager buyers something to look around at. Haven’t had such a small sale since the weekday ones. It's going to be interesting what's donated as money was flying in, in appreciation for opening in the first place with many phone calls expecting a cancellation message.

Obviously, I was disappointed not to get the 100 sellers, but the forecast was so varying I’m not a bit surprised. But so THANKFUL to have took the chance and proved the Met wrong. Just hope now the forecast is correct for next weekend looking good at the moment. If the sun shines and is warmer next Sunday 14th we should easily double the number of sellers.

THANK YOU for the support and bravery today in attending, easy day for the volunteers.

It’s a long day for sellers arriving at 6.30am even from Plymouth at that time I was on site at 5.30am as unable to prepare yesterday with the wind so bad, the grass was dry even at that time. Thank you to those sellers that updated me and had a good day and to the buyers spending and carrying goods to the car parks.
WAS IT WORTHWHILE? I THINK SO! 🙂

Rather disheartened to hear that two disabled parking cars came in with male drivers swearing at an innocent female leaving the site around 1pm.

Shameful and abuse as far as I’m concerned possibly not visitors so if regulars and you wish to attend again beware, we will not tolerate this at a family car boot sale. Unfortunately, we didn’t know this until last evening otherwise we would have acted immediately and asked you to leave. At Pendeen we protect our sellers and buyers there are no gimmicks just a normal family car boot sale that has run with high praise since day one. Our Volunteers are highly praised in running such a smooth sale.

Yesterday was a bonus in staying so dry with forecasts against us and having had £434.82 donated from 1pm to our local hospital a remarkable amount THANK YOU. THANKYOU to Mary, Freda, John, Di and Geoff for holding the buckets.

It's unfortunate when folk think they know best and comment on something they know nothing about and stand to be corrected and worse still when a comment is anonymous and slander, I wouldn’t want to be an administrator of that page if proceedings are taken further.

Understand the tractor wheel has been fitted so now I can mow the site and get it back to its prestige condition for car booting for our next sale hopefully Sunday June 7th HAPPYDAZE 🙂 Thanks Paul’s Photography & Drone Media Group

What a turn out on a day when the forecast 30%,40%,50% chance of rain. You could have sneezed and splattered more than we had. 141 sellers, Thank you for being so brave and hopefully fully rewarded.
The decision to open was taken as the afternoon originally looked good a couple of days ago. But even this morning at 5.15am checking the Met forecast wasn’t sure whether this was going to be a good decision. Karl thought we were doing wrong.
But today paid off brilliantly so pleased for everyone. We kept the sale compact not spread with sellers from all over the Southwest. Easy day for the volunteers and Sandra had new help on the early buyer’s entrance which worked a treat Thank you Denise.
Thank You to all that support Pendeen and making it such a remarkable car boot sale.
Apologies the grass was a bit longer where parking than normal still awaiting the wheel on the tractor to be done.
Next sale Sunday June 7th weather forecast needs to improve. 🤔

As organisers of Pendeen and one of the most reputable car boot sales going.

Karl, Sandra and I plus all the volunteers would prefer if anyone does have a problem at our sales to tell us immediately on the day so we can deal with it. Rather than dwelling on it for a week and then going anonymously on another site causing a right argument between comments which we will not then get involved with. Over the years trading standards have been known to visit regularly, and plain clothes police have attended even ones no longer in the police who advise us when needed. If something is not reported, we can’t deal with it. In this case the proof is there and no wrongdoing happening. A word between seller and observer might have been enough otherwise involve us. Regular sellers are there that want Pendeen to continue. A one-off seller can cause problem's because we are unlikely to see them again and then we can do very little. At Pendeen we act to protect our sellers just as we want to protect all the buyers that visit.

At Pendeen we have never allowed for folk to walk w***y nilly through sellers pitches. Having designated walkways wide enough for emergency vehicles please keep to them. Sellers normally fill their area to prevent this. The guide ropes are not to be used to go under or over. With sellers facing their tables they do not want anyone going behind. This is to protect our sellers from theft and keep our buyers safe no matter what happens at car boot sales elsewhere. There was a complaint on Sunday and the seller was right to prevent it happening, Good for you knowing how our system works.
Thank you to those that are protecting the site so we continue, empty boxes are not to be left anywhere and on leaving the site both Sunday and Monday the fields were pretty much litter free THANK YOU.
Sunday May 31st hope its cooler and dry to continue. 🙂

Thank you to all that came to Pendeen in this heatwave it was over 30 degrees today but a lovely Easterly cooling breeze out in the field. Yesterday not as hot but not the breeze as today. The volunteers what a tremendous asset you all are so proud of you all.

278 sellers Sunday, 126 today B.H.M. a marvellous turn out with one seller today having a buyer buy nearly all his stock for £1,000 with this seller having loads of interest beforehand.

As a family we decided we need to check all bank notes due to so much counterfeit notes in circulation and this weekend even being so busy this was achieved thanks to the detector shown and pen torch which some of you were interested in.

All in all, although very tiring a two-day event for those that so wished to be here. 🙂
