They’ll be maintaining and upgrading the electricity network over the next five years, as part of the £40 billion National Grid is investing in the UK’s energy infrastructure.⁠
⁠
With 270 local jobs and 3,000+ apprenticeship weeks anticipated from one of the projects alone, there’s a steady pipeline of work for the teams on the ground, and it’s good to see so much of it going to smaller companies.⁠
⁠
It’s a positive sign for the industry, and we’ll be ready to help the teams doing this work with the utility-spec vehicles they need. 🤝⁠

Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit for your next workshop van? 🤔⁠

Both have loyal followings, and people rarely switch sides.⁠
⁠
The Ford Transit is often called the better drive, and it can be a little cheaper to buy.⁠
⁠
Parts tend to be cheaper and easier to get hold of too, with a Ford dealer in most towns.⁠
⁠
Some people say you have to watch out for the wet belt, and we recommend changing them before 80,000 miles.⁠
⁠
The Mercedes Sprinter can cost a bit more, but more of them can tow up to 3.5 tonnes for heavier loads.⁠
⁠
They also tend to have fewer mechanical issues, and they usually hold their value well when it's time to sell.⁠
⁠
Both have earned their place on site, and both have their fans for good reason.⁠
