Let’s cut straight to the chase on this one.

DO NOT book your driving test through any third party. That includes individuals, companies, websites, or cancellation apps.

There has been information circulating about this for months, yet people are still choosing to ignore it.

The DVSA are actively cancelling tests that have been obtained through third parties and cancellation services.

Maybe you’re thinking, β€œBut Testi only sends me a notification.”

The reality is that these apps redirect you to the DVSA website, and the DVSA can see where bookings have come from.

Everyone is desperate for a test date, a cancellation and frustrated by the waiting times.

You are no more important than the next person trying to get a test, you are all in the same boat.

The only place you should be booking a driving test or searching for cancellations is through the official DVSA website.
No shortcuts.
No third parties.
No apps.

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but over the last few days my messages have been inundated with posts and messages about cancelled tests.

This has been widely publicised and discussed repeatedly by the DVSA, driving instructors, and learner driver groups.

Do not run the risk of being scammed, losing your test fee, or having your test cancelled.

If the DVSA cancel your test because it was obtained through a third party, you have no recourse.
No appeal, refund or special treatment.

You will be right back at square one, competing with tens of thousands of other learners for a test date.

It simply is not worth the risk.

IMPORTANT WARNING FOR LEARNER DRIVERS

If you are using unofficial driving test apps, websites, social media groups, or paying someone online to find you a driving test, you need to read this.

Since 12 May 2026, only the learner driver is allowed to book, change, swap or cancel a car driving test.

The DVSA has made it very clear that learners must not:

❌ Use unofficial apps or websites that scan the driving test booking system

❌ Give their booking details to someone else so they can manage their test

❌ Use people on social media who claim they can find or book earlier tests

If you are caught doing this, the DVSA may:

⚠️ Suspend your ability to manage your test online

⚠️ Restrict you to booking or changing tests by telephone only

⚠️ Cancel your driving test completely

The DVSA has confirmed they are actively monitoring the system and will take action where they believe bookings have not been made legitimately or where their terms and conditions have been breached.

Learners should remember three simple rules:

βœ… Only use the official GOV.UK website

βœ… Never pay anyone on social media to find a test

βœ… Never give your booking details to anyone else

There are genuine learners waiting for tests across the country. The purpose of these changes is to make the booking system fairer for everyone.

If you know a learner driver, please share this with them.

Losing a driving test because of an unofficial app or scammer would be a very expensive mistake.

From 12 May, only you as the learner driver will be able to book and manage your car driving test.

This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to do this for you.

This ⬇️ πŸ‘πŸ»β€¦too many people think oh I’ll just have a go, yes sometimes it might work in your favour but you have to be fully prepared for all roads, situations and manoeuvres to be able to continue to drive safely for life!

This is something that needs saying , because it affects more than just the person booking the test.

Driving tests are not meant to be used as a learning experience. They are there to assess whether you are ready to drive independently.

I understand not everyone will pass first time. That cannot always be helped. Nerves, pressure, one mistake at the wrong time. It happens.

But going to test just to β€œsee what it is like” when you know you are not ready is a different thing altogether.

It adds to the waiting times for everyone else who is genuinely prepared. People who have put the work in, who are test ready, who are just waiting for their chance.

There is also a safety side to this that often gets overlooked.

A test is not a lesson. The examiner is not there to teach you or to step in the way an instructor would. They are there to observe. That means if something goes wrong, there is far more risk involved because the safety net you are used to is not the same.

Your instructor is the one who prepares you for that environment. We explain how a test works, what to expect, how to manage nerves, and more importantly, we make sure your driving standard is where it needs to be before you ever get there.

Passing a 40 minute test does not suddenly make someone a complete driver.
It simply means they met the required standard in that moment.
If there are still consistent faults being picked up in lessons, those do not disappear just because a test has been booked.

This is why I always say, be honest about your readiness.

A test should confirm your ability, not discover your weaknesses.

Take the time to get it right.
It is not just about passing.

It is about being safe the day after, and every day after that.
