Weekly Learner Driver Tip 🤩Clutch Control

One of the biggest reasons learner drivers stall is releasing the clutch too quickly.

Try this simple tip:

Release the clutch slowly like it’s stuck in glue.

Or imagine you’re slowly peeling a sticky label off a new phone box. If you rush it, it snatches. If you take your time, everything stays smooth.

As the clutch starts to bite, pause for a second and let the car begin to move before lifting it the rest of the way.

Remember:

Slow feet = Smooth starts.

Mastering clutch control isn’t about speed

It’s about patience and feeling what the car is doing.

Don’t just look… see.

One of the biggest differences between a new driver and an experienced driver is what they notice.

As you drive, try asking yourself:

What’s happening ahead?
Is anyone slowing down?
Could a pedestrian step out?
Is a cyclist approaching?
Is there anything that might affect my speed or position?

Driving isn’t just about controlling the car, it’s about spotting potential hazards early and giving yourself time to react calmly.

The earlier you see it, the easier it is to deal with.

Safe driving starts with good observation. 👍
