This Velar came into TMC Motors with an engine management light illuminated and multiple AdBlue system faults relating to poor AdBlue quality.

After carrying out our diagnostics, we drained and cleaned the AdBlue tank before refilling it with fresh AdBlue. We then reset the system adaptations and cleared the fault codes, restoring the system back to normal operation. 🔧

🔊 HEARING A METALLIC RATTLE ON COLD START? DON'T IGNORE IT. 🔊

This Mercedes GLC came into TMC Motors after the owner noticed a loud metallic rattle for the first 3–5 seconds every morning when starting the engine from cold.

Rather than guessing, we asked the customer to leave the vehicle with us overnight so we could experience the fault ourselves during a genuine cold start.

After diagnosing the issue, we identified the timing chain tensioner as the likely cause.

Instead of recommending an expensive timing chain replacement straight away, we advised replacing the genuine Mercedes-Benz timing chain tensioner first, as the fault had only recently started.

The customer agreed...

And the result?

The rattle completely disappeared. 🙌

By diagnosing the fault correctly and taking the sensible first step, we saved the customer a substantial repair bill while potentially extending the life of the timing chain by around another 5,000 miles.

This BMW 1 Series came into TMC Motors with an airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard.

Using professional diagnostics, we quickly traced the fault to an internal failure within the front passenger seat belt buckle.

We supplied and fitted a new genuine BMW seat belt buckle, cleared the fault codes and carried out the necessary checks before handing the vehicle back to a happy customer. 🔧

⛽ STUCK AT THE PETROL STATION? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED. ⛽

This Mercedes CLA came into TMC Motors after the owner found themselves stranded at a petrol station, unable to open the fuel flap.

After searching for a Mercedes specialist, they found us just around the corner and gave us a call. We told them to bring the car straight in.

Our team quickly opened the fuel flap without causing any damage, removed the faulty locking motor and carried out a temporary repair using masking tape, allowing the customer to refuel and get back on the road while we ordered a brand-new genuine replacement.

The following day, we fitted the new fuel flap lock, carried out an oil service at the customer's request and returned the vehicle fully repaired. 🙌
