With so much standing water on the roads, good tyre tread is essential. Worn tyres increase your risk of aquaplaning, so check your tread depth and pressures.

❄️ COOLANT/ANTIFREEZE
Temperatures are dropping, and your cooling system needs protecting too. Make sure your coolant is topped up and has the correct antifreeze concentration.

🌧️ WIPERS

⚠️ FORD TRANSIT ECOBLUE OWNERS

This is what can happen when a wet belt goes too far…

Colin recently had this Ford Transit EcoBlue stripped down after its wet belt failed - and unfortunately, the damage meant this turned into a much bigger, specialist engine repair.

So why do wet belts fail?

In this case, the belt simply hadn’t been changed in time.

But there’s another reason Transit owners need to know about: the oil being used during servicing.

Wet belts run in engine oil, and the correct manufacturer-specified oil contains additives designed to work with and protect the belt material.

Using oil that doesn’t meet the correct specification can contribute to the belt deteriorating prematurely.

And once that belt starts breaking down, what could have been preventative maintenance can become a MUCH bigger repair.

That’s why with these engines, it isn’t just about getting your van serviced - it’s about making sure it’s serviced properly, with the correct oil and the wet belt changed when required.

Boulters had this Renault Clio in for a full service, and as you can see, we don’t skip the less glamorous bits.

As part of the job, the rear brakes were stripped down, properly cleaned and checked before being put back together.

THIS is exactly why we carry out a vehicle health check.

During a health check on this Suzuki, we spotted that the brake discs and pads were seriously worn and needed attention.

The customer hadn’t brought the car to us for the brakes - but catching them when we did meant we could get them sorted before they caused further damage or turned into a bigger safety issue.

This Peugeot came in for a clutch replacement.

Clutches naturally wear over time, but there are usually a few signs yours might be on its way out:

A turbo job that plenty of garages wouldn’t take on… luckily, we’ve got some seriously good techs on the team.

This Hyundai came to us needing a new turbo - Dean stepped up and took it completely in his stride.

Having experienced technicians on the team means we’re able to tackle some of the bigger, more involved repairs that aren’t always straightforward.
