🚗 The clocks going back isn't just about darker evenings, it's about increased risk on the roads.
New research found that 5pm collisions are due to rise by 43% nationwide in the three weeks after the autumn clock change. Serious injury collisions? Up 54%. Fatal collisions? Up 42%.
And 90% of those extra collisions will happen on wet, damp or adverse road surfaces.
For driving instructors, this is a reminder to talk to learners about visibility, braking distances and adjusting speed when conditions change.
And for you? Stay safe out there. Darker evenings are coming - make sure your lights are working, your tyres are in good shape and you're giving yourself extra time.
