Well that was an eventful first week back after a holiday!

Crafter in for a straight forward turbo replacement… 8 snapped manifold studs later and the engines out 😬

Customer opted for a cambelt/waterpump and clutch/flywheel replacement while the engine was out, we also found the EGR cooler leaking before the turbo job started so got that sorted too.

A couple of long days and late nights but the van was back on the road after 4 days, could’ve been sooner if sourcing parts wasn’t such a nightmare lately (but that’s another story)

All done, sorry if I’ve been a bit hard to contact over the last week… but now you can see why!
That’ll teach me for having time off 🙄😂

I had a Qashqai in this week after being recommended by a good customer of mine (thank you!) for a turbo replacement.
As always, when we get stuff in we check for why it’s broke and never just straight replace!

Found the DPF heavily sooted and blocked, but no fault codes 🤔
Ended up finding the DPF pressure sensor pipework blocked up, manifold pre turbo pressure pipe work blocked up and the fuel vaporiser also sooted - not allowing correct DPF readings and regeneration, causing excess back pressure and damaging the turbo causing it to rub on the housing and make noise, this eventually would’ve snapped and could’ve been bad news for the engine.

All rectified during replacement, DPF regeneration and pipework cleaned, customer given best advice on next steps to keep an eye out for further issues and diagnosis.

We’ve been very busy lately so the social media has took a step back!

Have had plenty of clutches, cambelts, suspension works, services, MOT’s and brakes through the workshop.

Currently booking up to 2 weeks advance for some jobs so if you’re MOT is due please message me as soon as possible, if you call and I don’t answer I will get back to you if you leave a message/voicemail.
