We had a wonderful evening celebrating the solstice last night. 3+ Minkes and two groups of Bottlenose. Loads of Gannets and some Manx Shearwaters. Fantastic company rounded off with some of Lou’s home baked cookies. 🍪 And well done to Gordie who, having been out with the tartan army in Boston stepped off a plane to skipper the second boat!

First minkes of the season!

*UPDATE* Due to demand we are looking at putting on a second boat tomorrow evening. Please do get in touch if you would like to join us so we can confirm final numbers.

We are hoping to run a special 3hr summer solstice trip departing Cromarty at 1830 on Sunday evening. At this stage the forecast is looking favourable and we will aim to get a bit further out and see what is around. Not the best pictures but we've had a number of Sea Eagle sightings recently, both juvenile and adults. This one pictured over the South Sutor being mobbed by gulls.

Guillemot (Uria aalge) or specifically Common guilliemot or even Common Murre if in North America. Travelling the world makes me appreciate what stunning sea bird colonies we have in the UK. North Sutors, Cromarty / Moray Firth, Scotland. Thanks to www,ecoventures.co.uk
