I collected this Ford Focus ST at the beginning of the week and left the customer with our courtesy car. The ford was in for an annoying brake squeak and a fairly substantial coolant leak (losing a few litres over a few miles).
Instantly recognised the brake squeak to be pads touching a lip on a worn disc before full contact was made and identified it as the drives front inner pad (as seen in photo 9).
New front discs and pads were fitted and the squeak was rectified.
The coolant leak was found to be the EGR Cooler having a hairline crack in it due to the plastic running through thousands of heat cycles in its lifetime!
I put the coolant pressure tester on, pumped it up to a good pressure and found the leak.
A new cooler was ordered and fitted up. Pressure tested again once fitted to ensure it was water tight and then took for a test drive!
Also while the car was in overnight waiting for parts, I noticed that the vehicle had a new rear caliper fitted elsewhere prior to coming here and was left silver (not matching the rest of the car). So painted it red to tie in with the rest of how the vehicle looks and let it cure before carrying out repairs the following day when the parts had arrived!

Earlier this year I bought this Renault Mégane, however it's not just some blue Renault with stickers! It's actually one of 26 left UK registered RS225 Team F1 Renault Méganes. Built to celebrate Fernando Alonso winning the Formula 1 world championship in 2005 , only 141 of these were made for the UK market back in 2005/2006.
Since buying it I've carried out a lot of maintenance work including suspension arms, fuel leaks, tyres, new auxiliary belt, crank pulley and tensioner due to the crank pulley damper having play.
Along with this, I also carried out a full brake upgrade consisting of MTech C-Hook discs, braided lines and EBC Yellow stuff pads!
The car came with years of history along with a folder of engine work and a custom map carried out on a Dyno! Meaning this car is making 268hp at the wheel and 232lbft of torque. Paired with the 1300kg weight, it certainly shifts!

Last week saw this BMW 320i come in for a list of work, consisting of a full service, gearbox service, find an oil and water leak, carry out a full brake change including fitting HEL Braiding lines! Plus making the inner wheel arch liner and under tray stop rubbing!
Had a water leak where the top hose fits onto the engine way under the manifold, so got a new hose and seals fitted up there!
The oil leak was from the turbo feed and return pipes! Removed, cleaned up the mating services and fitted new along with new seals!
I really enjoyed carrying this work out, the longer jobs you can get stuck into are always a favourite for myself!
Even finished it off with a quick engine bay detail and one of our new air fresheners.
Looking forward to the future plans as well!!

Collected this Hyundai i10 last week for a clutch with a super low biting point, on the drive in I confirmed the clutch needed replacing as previously discussed with the customer.
Carried out a clutch replacement job including a gearbox oil service and adjustment of the pedal. After removing the old clutch, you can see by the colour of it that it had gotten hot at some point in its life!
Delivered the car back to the customer that evening!

After teaming up with Sole Flavours and getting fragrances tested, locking in the correct fragrance for the end result was key, and I'm proud to say they've smashed it out of the park and the quality of these products are second to none!

These will be offered as courtesy during a service in the workshop, but also available to be purchased on the online store with either Free Collection from the workshop. Or delivery!

This Skoda CityGo came in for a straight forward full service! Everything was good with the car which we like, so serviced including rear brakes being cleaned up and adjusted! Picked up that afternoon and back on their way!

Collected this BMW 1 Series the other week for a slipping clutch!
Pulled the gearbox and inspected everything, the flywheel has been extremely overheated and had a lot of high spots, along with excess play being a dual mass flywheel!
New flywheel, clutch/pressure plate and release bearing fitted along with a gearbox oil change and delivered back to the customer the same day!

This Audi Q3 came in recently for a Full Service and Haldex service.
During the service inspection stage I noticed that the rear discs were corroded and recommended changing, also the front pads were around 3/4 worn but the front discs were lipped. So we agreed to do discs and pads all around whilst it was in!
The haldex service, depending on what system you have, either the gen4 or gen5 system determines whether you have an external haldex oil filter to change or not. This one being the Gen5 meant that the pump had to be removed and the gauze cleaned out, as you can see it certainly needed doing!
Pump replaced and new fluid put in. The system was then bled, fluid level rechecked and then I carried out a relearn procedure for the system. Took for a test drive and all was good.
Delivered the car back to the customer the same evening !
