Thank you The GTR Heritage Centre. Myself, paul and kris are buzzing to be able to attend this years event. We are all really looking forward to it. Watch out for us, drop by or give us a wave .Careful you don’t get wrapped in the onesie or bitten by the 🐊 🤣🤣
🏁 GOOD LUCK IAN,PAUL & Kris! 🏁
This week, three of the longest-serving and most respected members of The GTR Heritage Centre team are taking time away from building and restoring customer cars to pursue the passion that brought them into the automotive world in the first place.
🔧 Ian Walley has spent over 50 years building, developing and racing engines. His knowledge, experience and engineering ability are legendary amongst those who know him. Whether it's a classic performance engine, a race motor or a high-powered GT-R build, Ian's attention to detail is second to none. This week he'll be competing in the Street Weekend Bash with his incredible home-built Pro Street Cortina, a car that perfectly represents decades of engineering experience, innovation and determination.
🎓 Paul Dowdle is not only one of the most talented body and paint specialists we've had the privilege of working alongside, but also holds a Degree in Motorsport Engineering. Throughout his career he has helped create countless award-winning vehicles, combining technical knowledge with exceptional craftsmanship. This week Paul will be putting his own freshly built race car through its paces, showcasing the same dedication and attention to detail that our customers have benefited from for many years.
⚒️ Kris Mullen joins the team as mechanical and fabrication support throughout the event.
Kris is our longest-serving fabricator, known throughout the automotive world by many as "The Mighty Mull."
With a huge social media following and an incredible reputation for craftsmanship, Kris has spent years creating bespoke fabrication work that most people would consider impossible.
His ability to bend, shape and create steel structures with exceptional precision is second to none, and the quality of his work can be found throughout some of the finest vehicles ever to leave The GTR Heritage Centre.
As always, Kris is there supporting the team, keeping things moving and helping Ian and Paul tackle whatever challenges the week throws at them.
Together they are taking on the Street Weekend Bash — a demanding event involving hundreds of miles of road driving across the UK, mixed conditions, reliability challenges and competitive drag racing, all leading to the final showdown at Santa Pod Raceway.
These aren't sponsored drivers with unlimited budgets. They are enthusiasts, engineers, craftsmen and racers who spend their working lives helping others achieve their automotive dreams. This week, they're chasing a dream of their own.
From everyone at The GTR Heritage Centre, we wish Ian, Paul and Kris safe travels, strong runs and every success throughout the event.
👏 If you see them on the road, at a fuel stop, in the paddock or at Santa Pod, please stop and say hello and show your support.
Good luck lads — we're proud to have you both as part of Team Heritage.
