For those that don’t know prior to me being a professional entertainer. I used to be a first responder. Seen a lot of things that I can never unsee. Somethings that could have been prevented. So I want to educate you all because I know the summer is about to be in full affect and coming from a Beach Town (Wildwood NJ) our island sees millions of people throughout the three months of being a tourist attraction. With that being said, for those hitting the ocean and waves this summer.

You can spot a rip current. Unfortunately, it's where it looks easiest and safest to enter the sea. This is because the rip current is looping around and pulling back OUT. Hence no waves rolling IN. NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE. If you are already in the sea and get caught in a rip current (you'll know because you will suddenly be moved from your location and it will be impossible to swim against it) don't panic. That’s how most people drown. It’s because they become tired so Swim ACROSS, not against the rip current.

For example, rather than trying to swim to shore while being pushed out, swim parallel to the beach and you will be able to get out. Then you can swim ashore. Please educate friends or family visiting the beaches this summer. Stay safe 🙏

Just had my 5th MOT Pass for our 2 old cars since our Garage closed in 2019. I go to a place that is so similar to our old place and one of a few in town that charge the full price. Funny, £54.85 is a lot more than others charge but if I thought it was a fair price back in 2011 then I reckon it's a bargain now. The similarity of the things going on at this Garage was complete when another customer collected their car and was surprised that it had passed with no advisories, as she'd recently been told she needed 3 new tyres; by a fast-fit of course. Hope you've all managed to find decent alternatives.

It is with sadness, but also a great deal of relief, that I have to announce the passing of my Father, Dennis. He suffered a lot in the past few years but now is at peace. He, more than anybody else, was the man behind the ethos of Reeve's Garage. Not only was it his only job but it was his birth home. He worked through until his late eighties and I was lucky to be able to work alongside him for over 35 years. I can't begin to list his qualities here but you will all be aware of them anyway. Honesty, integrity, fairness and kindness spring immediately to mind. R.I.P. Dad.

1 year ago today was quite an emotional one as it was our last trading day, even though we spent another month there clearing the place out. And what a year! I now have a part-time job that gives me a bit of structure in my week as, for obvious reasons, there's been a restriction on activities (particularly travel) this past 7-8 months. Jamie and Terry are both working and everyone appears to be ok as we manage to stay in touch. Dennis is in a really poor state of health and in a home where we have never been able to visit as he went in just before the first lockdown. We've visited to the window but communication is all but impossible. I miss the interaction with staff and customers alike but obviously not the M25 journey. Including my Sister's car we've managed to get 3 MOT passes so far, with just mine to go next week. I really hope you've all managed to find a Garage that you're comfortable with by now. I imagine that mileage covered might be down quite a bit compared with previous years. Wishing you all the very best in these horrible times.
