After a belt failure the question I will always ask is did it start ok before?

If it did we then go to the stage of removing the cam carrier and testing each cylinder just in case it’s bent valves!

In this case it has!

If you had starting issues before it would show at this stage anyway.

The job just got a whole lot bigger! It’s now head off and rebuild 😫.

Ah well, Into it!!!

So we’ve just bought this non runner from York.

We offered to fix for the customer but they’ve opted for a new vehicle instead.

We will pay fair money for non runners based on spec, mileage, condition and service history etc.

Each vehicle needs to be HPI clear and have the logbook with it.

Ruined my life this van has so has anyone had any experience as BCA are robbing c***s and won’t entertain the list of issues as long as my arm.

But a lot are non communication codes so feel there’s an issue with a fuse missing etc.

However one code standing out is for a switch over valve for the HV coolant?

Anyone got an ex Amazon E sprinter that works as should can send me photos of the fuse box on the side of the drivers seat and passenger footwell please to make sure we’ve got them all?

So far all relays seem to work, fuses ok and both 12v batteries are perfect!

Any better ways of separating the bottom ball joint on a Ranger?

Heat and pressure seems to be the way and works every time but does anyone else have a better way?

There’s some s**t In this game ffs 🤣.

If you snap it just silicone over it! Not hopeful of what I’m gonna find now why this engine has no comp on three and four pots!

All the way from Preston this one!

Three garages couldn’t diagnose but we’ve done a compression test and found cylinders 3 & 4 with zero compression 😱.

Let’s get it stripped and see what we find!

Ford Ranger with damaged vacuum pump and sludge inside the engine.

This is where I say stick to shorter service intervals and make sure your mechanic is using the correct oil with the belt protection additive and that the oil if Ford Approved!

If it’s not Ford approved then don’t use the cheap s**t oil and wonder why your engine has failed!
