Your car, your rules 🚘❤️

Passed your driving test but feeling nervous with passengers? You’re allowed to set boundaries.

As a driving instructor, I want new drivers to know it’s okay to say:
💬 “I need the music quieter.”
💬 “Give me a minute to concentrate.”
💬 “Please don’t pressure me to go.”

You don’t need to impress your friends or rush because someone is impatient. Your focus needs to be on driving safely.

Confidence takes practice, and supportive passengers can make such a difference.

Save this before your next drive ❤️ What’s one rule you have for passengers?

Drive confidently with prompts, but start doubting yourself when your driving instructor goes quiet? 🚗

Try discussing a short stretch of independent driving on your next lesson. Agree the support you need, make your decisions, then review them together afterwards.

If commentary helps you, explain what you can see and what you’re planning. It can help your instructor understand your thinking too.

Save this to discuss with your instructor 💛

Worried your nerves will take over on your driving test? 😰🚗

I teach nervous learners every week, and these are three things we practise before test day:

❤️ Short chunks of independent driving — starting small and building up.
❤️ Recovering safely after a mistake, so it doesn’t take your attention away from the road ahead.
❤️ Finding what helps YOU concentrate, whether that’s talking things through or having quiet.

You don’t have to feel completely calm to make safe decisions. That’s why we practise coping with nerves alongside the driving skills.

Save this for your next driving lesson and ask your instructor: “Can we practise how I’ll cope, as well as how I’ll drive?”

Veygo🚗❤️ PASSED YOUR DRIVING TEST… BUT NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE ALONE?

You spent months learning, worked so hard to pass your driving test, and couldn’t wait for that freedom.

But now you’ve got your licence… you’re frightened to get behind the wheel on your own. 😢

Please don’t be hard on yourself.

As a driving instructor, I see how much pressure learners put on themselves, and I want newly qualified drivers to understand something.

Passing your test doesn’t mean you’ll instantly feel confident driving alone.

Confidence comes with experience, and that takes time.

❤️ Start with short, familiar journeys.
❤️ Choose quieter times to drive.
❤️ Build up to more challenging roads gradually.
❤️ Celebrate the little achievements.
❤️ Remember, you don’t have to be perfect.

You worked hard for that licence. Now give yourself time to enjoy the freedom you’ve earned.

My motto has always been safe driving for life, not just the test. 🚗

💬 Newly passed drivers, be honest… are you enjoying your freedom or are you still nervous about driving alone?

I’d love to hear your experiences. You’re certainly not alone! ❤️

Using your parking reference point but still ending up wonky? 🚗

A reference point is a guide. Your seating position, starting distance and angle can all affect the result.

Whether you’re practising reverse bay parking or parallel parking, keep observing around you and checking where the car is actually going. Keep it slow, stop to assess when needed and check it’s safe before correcting.

Save this for your next parking practice 💛 Which manoeuvre do you find hardest?

Five things to STOP doing before your driving test 🚘✋

1️⃣ Asking everyone if they think you’ll pass
2️⃣ Watching driving-test fail videos
3️⃣ Changing the way you drive at the last minute
4️⃣ Letting impatient drivers rush you
5️⃣ Replaying every little mistake

Remember: the driver behind you isn’t taking your test. Take your time, make safe decisions and focus on the next bit of road—not the mistake behind you.

Which one do you need to stop doing? 👇🍀

Taking your driving test soon? 🚘 These three things could knock your confidence before you even start 👇

📱 Last-minute tutorial overload.
Watching a different way to do a manoeuvre on test morning can leave you questioning what you’ve already practised.

👀 Changing your driving to impress the examiner.
Keep your attention on the road and make safe decisions. Don’t rush into a gap because you’re worried about appearing hesitant.

🧠 Trying to fix everything in your warm-up.
Use that time to settle into the car, take useful reminders from your instructor and get comfortable with the conditions. One mistake doesn’t erase your progress.

You’ve spent time building your skills. Give yourself the chance to use them 💛

Save this for your test morning and send it to someone with a test coming up.

Which of these would you be most tempted to do? 👇

Practised your parking… but forgotten your Tell Me questions? 👀🚗

Here’s a quick driving test revision tip for checking your brakes: FEEL • TEST • STRAIGHT.

🦶 FEEL — the pedal shouldn’t feel spongy or slack.
🚗 TEST — gently check the brakes as you move off, at low speed somewhere safe.
↔️ STRAIGHT — the car shouldn’t pull to either side when you brake.

Practise explaining those three points out loud—you’re learning what to check, not just memorising words ❤️
