🚙 DID YOU KNOW? (It’s not a wrong turn, it’s a detour!) 🚙
Many learners think taking a wrong turn during their driving test is an automatic fail. Spoiler alert: It’s not! 🛑
The examiner isn’t testing your internal GPS; they are testing your safety and control. Here is the game plan for when you miss that exit or turn left instead of right:
💡 What to do if you go the wrong way:
• Stay Calm: Don’t panic or slam on the brakes. Take a deep breath and keep driving safely.
• Follow Through: If you’ve realized too late that you’re in the wrong lane, stay in that lane. It is much safer to go the wrong way correctly than to make a dangerous last-minute swerve.
• Communicate: If you realize your mistake, you can briefly mention it to the examiner (e.g., “I’ve realized I’m in the wrong lane, so I’m going to continue straight ahead safely”).
• Wait for Instructions: The examiner will simply give you new directions to get back on track.
The Golden Rule: As long as you follow the road markings, check your mirrors, and signal correctly, a “wrong” turn is just a bit of extra practice!
