One of the questions we get asked all the time is…

“How can I have air conditioning fitted if my motorhome has a pop-top roof or a fibreglass roof?”

The answer is the Teleco Ultra Comfort 6000 or 8000. 😎

Unlike traditional roof-mounted systems, these clever units are mounted discreetly behind the front bumper, leaving your roof completely untouched. Inside, the air is delivered through a factory-style dashboard vent, giving a clean, OEM finish that looks like it left the factory that way.

This week we installed the system into Mike’s Hymer, carefully routing everything out of sight to maintain the original look of the vehicle while delivering powerful cooling for those hot summer adventures. ❄️

Stevie’s lovely Auto-Trail Apache was in with us today for one of our favourite upgrades… the superb Truma Aventa Comfort Gen2 roof-mounted air conditioning unit with the Cappuccino diffuser 😎❄️

To achieve the cleanest possible installation, we started by removing the existing extractor fan before carefully routing a new 230V supply through the ceiling. A dedicated fused spur was installed and seamlessly integrated into the existing electrical loom, leaving a neat, reliable and professional finish.

At KamperBitz we don’t just fit accessories… we fit them as though they left the factory that way. No visible cables, no untidy trunking, no shortcuts - just a clean OEM-style installation every time. 👌

Whilst the motorhome was with us, we also sorted a leaking rear rooflight. The rooflight was completely removed, the roof aperture and frame were thoroughly cleaned back to bare surfaces, fresh high-quality sealant applied and everything refitted correctly to ensure a long-lasting watertight seal. ✅

Another fantastic upgrade completed and another customer ready to stay cool and comfortable wherever the road takes them! 😎

🔋 Another motorhome made a little more off-grid ready! ☀️

Today we welcomed a newly purchased Bessacarr E460 into the workshop for a 150W solar upgrade.

The owner wanted reliable battery charging, so we supplied and fitted:
✅ 150W solar panel
✅ Victron MPPT smart controller
✅ Connected directly to the leisure battery for maximum charging efficiency

Interestingly, it looks like this motorhome had previously had both a solar panel and what appears to have been a satellite system removed. Rather than reusing the old installation, we gave it the attention it deserved.

We fitted the new panel using fresh corner mounts, replaced the tired roof entry gland, installed brand-new cabling, and left everything neat, secure, and built to last. The result? A clean, factory-style installation that will keep the leisure battery topped up whether it’s on a campsite or wild camping. 😎

It’s often the little details you can’t see that make the biggest difference to reliability, and we never cut corners when it comes to protecting your investment.

Another busy day keeping our customers adventure-ready! 🚐🔧☀️

First up, Nick brought in his stunning Swift Voyager for its annual habitation check. We’re pleased to report it received a clean bill of health! ✅ While it was with us, we also fitted a set of front mudflaps and installed a set of Titan fridge fans to help keep the fridge performing at its best during this summer heat. ❄️🌡️

Next through the workshop was Dan’s Vivaro van for an air conditioning regas. With temperatures soaring, there’s nothing better than getting that ice-cold air blowing again! 🥶

To finish the day, we headed over to Hawarden to carry out an annual habitation check on Paul’s lovely Bailey Autograph, ensuring everything is safe, reliable and ready for plenty more adventures. 👍

📞 130+ messages before we’d even had chance to catch our breath… 😅

Peak season is definitely here, but that didn’t stop us getting another busy day ticked off. 💪

🚗 Saab 9-3 – Air Conditioning regas completed and blowing ice cold again. ❄️

🚐 Elddis Vogue – Annual habitation check, warranty solar panel replacement and a new 20A cigarette lighter socket installed. Ready for more adventures. 👍

🚐 Dethleffs Globecar – Annual habitation check completed and given the thumbs up, ready for its excited new owners. ✅

🧰 Plus we diagnosed and repaired faults on both a Dometic and a Thetford fridge to keep two more customers’ trips on track.

All of that… while answering (or trying to answer!) over 130 phone calls, texts, emails and WhatsApps throughout the day. 🤯

If you’ve contacted us and we’re a little slower than usual, thank you for bearing with us. During the summer months we’re either under a vehicle, on a roof, or elbows deep inside one! 😅

A lovely newly purchased Compass Avantgarde visited the KamperBitz workshop for a couple of simple but essential upgrades to get it adventure-ready! 🚐☀️

First up was the installation of a superb 4.5m Fiamma F45 awning, creating a huge sheltered outdoor living space for relaxing, dining or escaping the unpredictable British weather! 🌦️

To finish things off, we supplied and fitted a Thule G2 Elite cycle rack, giving the owners a safe and secure way to take their bikes wherever the road leads. 🚲
