I’ve been Probed and possibly not for the first time 😂
on this sunny Sunday morning I’ve got the 35,000 mile 1996 Ford Probe of the garage.
Every two years or so I tend to do a restoration of a car from the 80s or 90s just as a hobby really I love the cars from that era and I enjoy the process of restoring and saving them.
Sometimes, more often than not in fact they cost more to buy and restore than they sell for when they’re finished, but I don’t mind that.
So far I’ve restored a
1984 Jaguar sovereign xj6
1990 Ford es**rt RS turbo
1986 Ford Capri 2 L laser in black
1983 hearing aid beige Ford Sierra, just because it was 1 owner from new I wanted to save it.
The common theme with most of the Ford Cars is that you remember them from your youth with Rose tinted glasses often you restore one it looks exactly as you remember it but then you drive it.
And to be honest, they don’t drive so great, especially in comparison to modern day cars the Ford Probe in my humble opinion bucks that trend, it’s easy to drive, smooth on the road, with the precise gear change and a slightest little growl from the 16 valve engine it’s not super fast but it’s fast enough to keep up with modern day traffic effortlessly and the seats are super comfortable.
Although not the most popular car ever made and in my opinion, probably not the best named Car ever, in 2025 it has a cool retro look it’s easy to use and live with and in my humble opinion probably a little underrated.
Disclaimer:I take no responsibility if you find yourself probed, you have been warned 😉
