Beware of scams and apps that promise driving test dates, if the DVSA believe a driving licence number is being used fraudulently (by apps or scammers who you’ve shared your details with) they may:

• suspend your ability to manage your test online – you will then only be able to make changes or book a new test by phone

• cancel your booking!

Never share your details, only book through the official DVSA website.

Can you please help this petition by signing and/or sharing 🙏

I've seen first hand people arrive at the Test Centre on their own (some with some obvious lack of driving ability) apply 'L' plates for the test, fail that test, take off the 'L' plates, get in the driver's seat and legally drive away. How can this be ok?

The regulations governing foreign license holders in the UK depend on the country of issue. Some individuals with non-UK licenses from certain countries are permitted to drive unsupervised for a period of up to 12 months from their date of entry. To extend these driving privileges, residents must secure a UK provisional license and successfully pass the UK driving test before the year concludes. Notably, failing a UK driving test within this initial 12-month period does not void the foreign license, and the holder may legally continue to drive unsupervised until the 12-month entitlement officially expires.

Close the driving loophole for foreign licence holders before more lives are lost

🚗 A gentle reminder to give our learner drivers some extra breathing room! 👇

Today during a lesson, my student stalled at some traffic lights—a completely normal, everyday part of learning to drive. Unfortunately, the vehicle behind didn’t leave quite enough space or time to react, resulting in this rear end collision.

The big takeaway here: Learners will make mistakes, hesitate, and stall. If you see an ‘L’ plate, please just drop back and leave a little extra space. That extra meter or two gives everyone the time they need to react safely. Rest assured we’ll all be on our way faster and more safely with a bit of patience and some extra clearance space.

❤️ The silver lining: I want to say a massive thank you to the van driver involved. They were absolutely excellent—incredibly caring, calm, and professional while we exchanged details. We are both so grateful for how wonderfully they handled the situation.

Most importantly, we’re all ok, shaken but doing ok!

How driving test booking is changing for learner drivers.

Not that this will be any different for my learners, as they’ve always booked, paid for and managed their own tests directly with the DVSA

From 12 May, only learner drivers can book their own tests, not instructors.
