🚗⚡ Tesla in the workshop today with a very loud suspension creak whenever the steering wheel was turned.

After carrying out our diagnostics, we traced the fault to a worn ball joint in the suspension arm. We sourced the replacement part and completed the repair the very same day, getting the vehicle back on the road quickly and quietly.

⚡ EV Repairs Are No Longer “The Future” – They’re Here Now ⚡

Over the last couple of months, we’ve seen a significant increase in electric vehicles coming through our workshop with faults requiring specialist diagnosis and repair. It’s great to see the training, equipment, and investment we’ve made in EV technology being put to good use.

One recent example was a 74-plate Peugeot EV that was still under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, due to lengthy wait times at the dealer, the customer asked us to investigate the issue.

The vehicle arrived on recovery as it was completely dead – no lights, no functions, and unable to move. We connected the official Peugeot dealer diagnostic equipment, but even that couldn’t reveal the cause of the fault.

From there, we had to rely on our diagnostic skills and technical information. Using genuine Peugeot wiring diagrams, we developed a structured test plan and methodically worked through the systems that weren’t operating.

The result? The fault was traced to something surprisingly simple – a poor ground connection to a control module responsible for powering the high-voltage system.

This is a perfect example of why modern vehicle diagnostics, especially on EVs, isn’t just about plugging in a diagnostic machine. It requires training, experience, technical data, and a logical diagnostic process.

Jobs like these aren’t coming in the future – they’re here now. We’re proud to have the skills, training, and equipment to keep our customers moving, whatever they drive.

⚡ EV Repairs Successfully Completed This Week ⚡

More info to follow soon, but it’s been a busy week here at Ramsey Hill Garage with 2 electric vehicles in for repair 🔧🚗⚡

One vehicle came in with an issue relating to its electric servo system, and another Peugeot arrived completely dead on the recovery truck.

After a few hours of diagnostics, testing, and putting our EV knowledge to work, we’re pleased to say both vehicles are now fully repaired and back on the road ✅

🚐 Ford Transit in with us for a wet belt replacement at Ramsey Hill Garage 🔧

The wet belt is a vital part of the engine and, unlike a traditional timing belt, it runs inside the engine oil. Over time these belts can start to break down, causing debris to block the oil pickup pipe which can lead to low oil pressure and, in some cases, complete engine failure if left too long.

Common signs can include:
⚠️ Engine warning lights
⚠️ Loss of power
⚠️ Noisy running
⚠️ Poor servicing history
