It’s been a busy and successful year for Sea Fever Sailing, and we’re excited to be taking the next step in growing our operation.

To support that growth, we’re looking for a 4-cabin sailing yacht in good condition, already coded under MGN 280 (or coded within the past 5 years), for use on the Clyde and the west coast of Scotland.

The boat would be skippered exclusively by our own Yachtmaster Instructors for a combination of training courses, adventure sails, skippered charters and holiday cruises.

We’re open to long-term charter, lease-purchase or outright purchase. For charter or lease-purchase, we’d prefer an agreement that allows us to take full responsibility for the boat’s management and maintenance, ensuring she’s well cared for, reliably maintained and beautifully presented for every trip.

Coastal Skipper isn’t about collecting the next certificate.

It’s about what you do when the passage is longer, the harbour is unfamiliar, the weather changes and the crew looks to you for the plan.

You’ll already have solid sailing skills. During the week, you’ll put them to work on longer passages, in more demanding waters, by day and by night.

With Dónal alongside you, you’ll have the space to take command, make decisions and manage the boat and crew. Sometimes your plan will work exactly as expected. Sometimes the weather and tide will tell you it needs to change. Both are useful.

With a maximum of four students, there’s time to practise, talk decisions through and try things again.

We’re not looking for perfection. We want you to leave thinking further ahead, making sounder decisions and feeling calmer when you’re the person in charge.
