Price Update – Effective 1st September

To continue providing high-quality driving lessons in a safe, modern, and well-maintained vehicle, my lesson price for new students will increase to £40 per hour from 1st September.

This decision reflects the continued rise in running costs, including fuel, insurance, vehicle maintenance and operating expenses.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of my current students for your continued support and loyalty. Existing students will remain on their current rate for the time being.

If you’ve been thinking about starting lessons, get in touch before 1st September to secure your place.

🚜 Driving Lesson: Passing Livestock Safely on Rural Roads 🐄🐑

Driving on country roads can be unpredictable, especially when you come across animals. Knowing how to react could prevent a serious collision.

🐑 If you see livestock ahead:

✅ Slow down immediately – Reduce your speed well before reaching the animals.

✅ Be patient – Animals can move suddenly and unpredictably.

✅ Keep your distance – Leave plenty of space between your car and the livestock.

✅ Avoid sounding your horn – Loud noises can frighten animals, making them panic and run into the road.

✅ Use a low gear if needed – This gives you better control, especially on narrow or steep roads.

✅ Follow any instructions – If a farmer or livestock handler is present, follow their signals carefully.

❌ Don’t:

* Speed through gaps in the herd.
* Rev your engine.
* Try to squeeze past if there isn’t enough room.
* Assume the animals will move out of your way.

🚗 Driving Test Tip

Examiners want to see that you:

* Recognise the hazard early.
* Reduce your speed in good time.
* Stay calm and patient.
* Put safety before making progress.

Remember, there’s no rush. Arriving a minute later is far better than risking an accident.

Today was a reminder that I can’t always post first-time pass photos… because that’s simply not how learning to drive works. ❤️

Today, my pupil unfortunately didn’t pass. They picked up just 2 driving faults, but failed right after leaving the test centre because nerves got the better of them.

Driving tests aren’t just about driving ability – they’re also about handling pressure. Sometimes the nerves win, and that’s okay.

A fail doesn’t define you. It doesn’t mean you’re a bad driver, and it certainly doesn’t mean you won’t pass next time. Every test, pass or fail, is a learning experience that helps you become a safer, more confident driver.

To anyone who has failed a driving test… please don’t give up. Dust yourself off, learn from it, and keep going. Your pass photo will come. 💙🚗

As an instructor, I’m just as proud of my pupils for getting back up after a setback as I am when they pass.

One of the hardest parts of being a driving instructor is saying goodbye when a pupil passes their test. Over the weeks and months, you build a friendship, share laughs, work through nerves, and celebrate every little achievement together.

While I’ll miss seeing you each week, I couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve accomplished. Watching you grow into a safe and confident driver has been a privilege, and seeing you pass makes every lesson worthwhile.

Good luck on all the adventures ahead – you’ve earned every mile. 🚗✨
