A customer came to us with a worn remote key blade that was no longer turning the ignition barrel properly.

We were able to rebuild the key into a brand-new case and cut a fresh blade, restoring full functionality and saving the customer from a much bigger repair bill.

🔑 Toyota RAV4 2021 – Spare Remote Key Supplied & Programmed

A regular trade customer required a spare remote key for this 2021 Toyota RAV4 at the request of the purchasing customer.

These Toyotas use a rolling-code security system, meaning additional remote keys require specialist programming equipment and knowledge. It’s a job that many locksmiths aren’t able to complete.

🚗 Volkswagen Golf 2012 – All Keys Lost Situation

The customer initially tried to repair their worn-out key using a cheap replacement part purchased online. Unfortunately, this DIY repair caused further damage, leaving the vehicle with no working key and unable to start.

What could have been a straightforward key repair turned into a much more complex All Keys Lost job.

To get the vehicle running again, we had to:

🔹 Remove the instrument cluster (dashboard clocks)
🔹 Extract the vehicle’s security data
🔹 Program a brand-new key from scratch
🔹 Restore full vehicle operation

⚠️ The lesson? Attempting a DIY repair with low-quality parts can often end up costing far more than having the original key professionally repaired in the first place.

🚗 Renault Grand Scenic 2012 – Key Card Repair

A customer contacted us because their Renault Grand Scenic would no longer start, displaying the message “Key Card Not Detected.”

To make matters more confusing, their spare key card wasn’t working either, making it difficult to determine whether the fault was with the vehicle or the key cards themselves.

We explained that we could first test both key cards to check for an engine start signal before considering any repairs or replacement.

The customer booked an appointment and brought both key cards to us for testing.

🔍 What we found:

* The key card that had been in regular use was no longer transmitting a start signal.
* The spare key card’s history was unknown, as the customer wasn’t sure when it had last worked.
* Further investigation revealed that a locksmith had previously programmed a replacement key card but had not retained the original card in the vehicle’s system.

✅ The solution:
We were able to quickly repair the faulty key card without needing the vehicle on site.

This saved the customer both time and money compared to supplying and programming a new key card.

🔑 2018 Ford Transit Custom – New Remote Key Supplied & Programmed

This customer only had one key for their van, and it had seen better days. The remote locking had stopped working, the flip blade wouldn’t fold away properly, and the worn key blade was making it difficult to turn in the ignition.

We supplied, cut, and programmed a brand new remote key, giving the customer a reliable everyday key while keeping the original as a backup.

Porsche Panamera 2019 in for spare key recoding 🔑

The customer noticed the spare remote key wasn’t working and wasn’t sure if it had ever worked during their ownership.

We see this a lot with second-hand vehicles — cars are often sold appearing to come with two keys, but the spare is actually a used remote from another vehicle.

After a quick inspection, we confirmed that wasn’t the case here, meaning the spare just required relearning to the vehicle.

To complete the process, we dismantled the working remote to read the immobiliser data and carried out key learning to correctly program the spare.

Both remotes are now fully working again with the vehicle ✅

We see so many BMW E90 3 Series remotes damaged after DIY battery replacement attempts from YouTube videos 👀

These keys are delicate internally, and without the proper tools or PCB experience it’s very easy to damage components while opening the shell.
