Charging infrastructure remains one of the most cited barriers to fleet electrification. Public charging availability, depot constraints and grid capacity continue to challenge fleet operators.

But the organisations making the strongest progress aren't waiting for perfect conditions, they're building charging strategies around operational realities.

In this discussion we cover:

⚡ Depot charging
⚡ Public charging networks
⚡ Home charging considerations
⚡ Grid constraints and capacity planning
⚡ Building a charging strategy that works at scale

Successful fleet charging is about combining multiple solutions into a strategy that supports operational resilience.

Data is one of the most valuable assets in fleet electrification, not just vehicles or charging infrastructure.

From route optimisation and charger utilisation to energy management and battery performance, data is becoming the foundation of smarter fleet charging decisions. Organisations that make charging decisions based on operational data rather than assumptions are reducing costs, improving uptime and creating more resilient charging ecosystems.

In this webinar we explore:

📊 The role of telematics in charging strategy
📊 Charging behaviour insights
📊 Energy optimisation opportunities
📊 Using data to support future infrastructure investment

If you're planning your transition, this is essential viewing.

One of the biggest myths in fleet electrification? That it's simply a vehicle replacement programme.

In reality, successful fleet electrification is an operational transformation project involving infrastructure, finance, procurement, drivers, operations teams and leadership. Organisations that treat EV adoption as a business-wide change initiative consistently achieve better outcomes.

In this session, we discuss:

🔹 Preparing your organisation for electrification
🔹 Avoiding common implementation pitfalls
🔹 Building internal stakeholder buy-in
🔹 Creating a scalable transition roadmap

The fleets achieving the strongest results aren't necessarily the fastest movers, they're the best prepared.

The conversation around fleet electrification has moved on and the question is no longer whether EVs have a role in commercial fleets but how quickly can they unlock the commercial value?

While carbon reduction remains a major driver, fleet electrification is increasingly being driven by operational efficiency, lower running costs, improved energy resilience and stronger customer and stakeholder expectations. Organisations that take a strategic approach to transition planning are already seeing the benefits.

In this webinar, we explore how fleet managers can build a compelling business case that balances:

✅ Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
✅ Carbon reduction goals
✅ Operational performance
✅ Long-term competitiveness

The 2035 transition is often discussed as a compliance challenge. In reality, it's a business planning challenge.

Fleet operators need to make decisions today on charging strategy, operational readiness, infrastructure investment and long-term partnerships if they want to avoid costly delays later. The organisations making the most progress are focusing on resilience, scalability and practical implementation rather than waiting for certainty.

A huge thank you to our expert panel:

✅ Ian McKee, ChargeUK
✅ Paul O'Brien, Openreach
✅ Niall Riddell, Paua
✅ Alice Aprile-Smith, Source

Their insights covered everything from policy uncertainty and charging infrastructure to driver engagement and long-term fleet planning.

As our webinar drew to a close, one final lesson stood out: you don't need to learn everything the hard way.

Reflecting on Openreach's early electrification journey, Paul O'Brien highlighted how much the industry has learned over the past few years. Today's fleets have access to a wealth of knowledge from businesses that have already tested technologies, refined charging strategies and overcome operational challenges. One of the biggest advantages available to organisations starting now is that they can learn from those experiences rather than repeating them.

The fleets making the fastest progress aren't necessarily those with the biggest budgets. They're the ones that start early, stay flexible and tap into the expertise already available across the industry. If there was one factor the panel agreed underpins successful fleet electrification, it was data.

Route patterns, dwell times, charging habits, vehicle utilisation and driver behaviour all play a critical role in determining how successfully a fleet electrifies. From Paua's charging analytics to Openreach's advanced route mapping based on vehicle load, the panel demonstrated how data can reduce range anxiety, optimise charging choices and improve operational efficiency. The organisations extracting maximum value from electrification are often those making the best use of their data.

Good decisions start with good information. Explore all seven lessons from the fleet electrification frontline: https://source-ev.com/news/seven-lessons-from-the-fleet-electrification-frontline
