ChromeLondon Original Classic Cars & Audio. New Showroom Now Open Here at chromelondon we specialise in all original classic car radios.

Your classic car just is not complete without one! Best place to start is research the options that were available for the car when it was made, many had factory audio options but many more simply left the factory without a radio and it was up to the dealer to supply one. You can always drop us a line or better still, send us a photo of your dash, by email to [email protected] or call us on 07

799242626 and we will be happy to advise on the correct radio for your car, whether you are going for concours or simply want to return to originality, our advise is always free, honest and informed.

On a visit to a local restorer I’ve known for years I turned a corner and there she was. 964 Turbo double black treasure. LHD it may be but after sitting in a showroom for three years it’s being brought back to glorious life.

Yes it is for sale and yes I do want it but my heart is writing cheques my wallet can’t cash right now. 🥲 or can it…?stay tuned 😜

The Mercedes-Benz R129 story side by side in our showroom today.

1992 300SL straight six in Diplomatic Black 040 with a rare cloth interior sharing the floor with its facelifted sibling, a 1999 SL320 V6 in Grünschwarz 189 sporting a Panoramic Glass hard top.

In our humble opinion the most Under rated, over engineered and under valued of all 90’s classics.

Sad to see our pristine Austin Healey leave us. Delighted that her new owner, living in Devon, is a proper car guy though. He had been searching for the perfect Healey for a few years. He certainly found it! Remarked he had never seen a better one.
Delivered direct to his door by our friends

Cycling through the soft top mechanism of a 1999 R129 SL320. The entire system has just been serviced by the experts at .workshop. Being an ultra low mileage example the roof had barely, if ever, been used. The sensors, fluids and hydraulics were all tested ok. The roll-over bar was also tested as you can see.
Always worth doing this on any electric roof mechanism as a precaution.

A fire rages fifty yards away from our car storage centre on a farm in Berkshire.
The warehouse that went up was used to store old fridges, freezers and washing machines. I believe they were being exported to Africa where they would be refurbished and sold on. I guess one of them caught and here is the result.

Unfortunately this is now a virtually extinct model. Based on a very rare Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo large body only made from late 1969 to 1973. Volvo offered them as factory fit hence the legend engraved in the dial. What makes this even rarer still is the fact it’s a US frequencies export model. You can see the 108mhz bandwidth and AM FM buttons.

Not even cleaned yet and yes that was 6230 miles on the clock. This is a mother and daughter owned Mercedes-Benz 300SL R129 roadster from 1992 with full history and warrantied mileage. One of a kind and will present as new once we have done our magic. Still has the factory wax on the chassis and engine.

Finished in Diplomatic flat black with beige cloth check interior. Coming to market soon.
If there is another anything like this please let us know so we can buy it!

Not sure there is a car more evocative of an era than this w124 Cabriolet. It’s a 320 Sportline so has the classic straight six and sportier handling, made in the nineties so way over engineered. Finished in Almandine Metallic which isn’t to everyone’s taste, however the new owner loves it. Which is all that really counts!

Blaupunkt Frankfurt prepped correctly for Porsche 912. The green illumination is actually a clear BA7 bulb with heat resistant green film, not a green LED. The chrome centre surround exactly matches the Porsche factory dash aperture, the handmade k***s are concave to match the 912 switchgear.

The Frankfurt was all band L-LW M-AM K-SW U-FM, had a tone adjuster, mechanical memories and an electric antenna port. The only radio you should ever really fit to 912 or 911 65-73

I knew I was buying it as soon as I started walking towards it. 1968 W111 280SE coupe used as a daily driver by a lady in Notting Hill. Unrestored, not tarted up just an honest to goodness great car.
