Kevin Baynham sent us these pics by Ade of his very tastefully modified fast road 1275 GT. Kev's had the 1330cc engine built by Sprint Engines with a large dollop of MED inside.

Those upgrades include our popular RS camshaft, 1.5 roller rockers, Vernier timing gears, stub stack kit, Verto St1 flywheel, S damper kit and radiator. It makes 90bhp and should drive brilliantly.

You can read the full story and see more photos in the latest issue of MiniWorld Magazine.

Today we're mainly on MED camshaft timing covers and flywheel kits.

CNC machined from billet aluminium, the timing cover aims to eliminate oil leaks from this area, which are usually caused by a warped or damaged lip on the standard cover.

The removable top cover features a separate crankcase breather and replaceable oil seal.

Installation of one of our NXG limited-slip differentials into a full MED straight-cut dog-engagement gearbox.

In addition it's having an MED straight-cut final drive too, to further reduce transmission losses to the wheels.

Building your own competition classic Mini? We have a huge range of transmission upgrades in stock to perfectly suit your project ⚙🏁🤩

Congratulations to Stephane and the team at BMC Historic Racing for rounding out another fantastic season of Mini racing on the continent, as part of the 1300ETC Championship at the Nurburgring.

With a 50-minute endurance race complete, the team clinched the SPI Mini Class for 2026, and had a lot of fun in the process.

We've had some stunning parts and kits completed this week and straight out to customers. What's on your Mini's MED wish list?

Something we've not posted up in quite some time, the MED 7.5" clutch and flywheel assembly for inline 1275 engines, such as the Sprite and Midget.

As per the Mini range, we go to great lengths to reduce weight from the flywheel to give a huge improvement to acceleration of the car, then dynamically balance the kit within a gram.

The Sprite flywheel is machined from EN8 steel so we can safely reduce its weight to just 3.9kg, attention paid to the outer diameter where this has the most effect.

Combined with a Ford-style clutch cover and larger diameter plate, torque holding is also increased considerably over the standard design, which can often struggle with tuned 1275 engines, especially when used in competition.

Gear sets and flywheels today, and we've re-stocked the A+ rod change straight-cut gearsets. These are perfect for fast road, trackday and light competition Minis, reducing transmission losses and giving much-needed close ratios.

Plus a few flywheels heading out, including one of the latest Verto Stage 1 assemblies with integral heat treated ring gear.
