Remember my little owl family I made recently. Well they flew home to roost to the next little fishing village to me 😍. So another piece not too far away.

I have another little "Bo Faux in situ' post for you tonight 😍.

Do you remember the very handsome Wilbur the Wheaten Terrier and my first ever open mouthed piece I made. Well I received these lovely photos of Bo Faux Wilbur in his forever home last week.

The real Wilbur looks a bit bewildered by his Bo Faux friend 😂😂😂

I have something a little different for you today 😍.

This lovely little owl family was commissioned during NEOS (North East Open Studios) last September! The main reason for the delay was finding that perfect piece of driftwood for the little owl family to roost on. It took at least two winter storms before I found the perfect piece of wood. It had a beautiful patina, interesting shape and stood independently. Fantastic! I had to let the wood dry out completely before cleaning and waxing it.

Then it was onto our little owl family. I was given a photo of the family at a wedding and asked to replicate it in some creative way. I wanted to keep it subtle and just give a nod to the colours within the outfits. There are even tiny pieces of tartan 😁. I think it has worked out well.

And to finish the piece off I created some foliage using more leather and woven fabric scraps 🥰.

Tonight I am sharing a recent memorial piece I completed a few weeks ago.

This is Gibbs the Border Terrier. When I saw his photographs I was captured by his cheeky little face and that distinctive overbite. However being a memorial piece, creating such distinctive features did feel a little daunting at first. I wanted to create a face and character that the owner would instantly recognise. And I am so pleased to say that Bo Faux Gibbs received happy tears 🥰. And to me that's what it is all about ♥️.

Remember the little Squirrels I made a few weeks ago. Well I was kindly sent this photo of this little guy 😍. He's now called Roo and frequents in the kitchen. And I think that is the perfect habitat if he decides to roast that nut 😁.

I don't know about you guys but I am already feeling like a football widow. But at least it's giving me some peace to get on with my commissions 😆.

I can now show you all another birthday commission I finished recently. This is Bailie. Isn't he gorgeous. He was quite a challenge really with his pale skin tone and distinctive markings. But still a joy to make 😍.

Looking at the photo i'm not too sure he approves of his Bo Faux doppelganger 🤣. But I have been assured the Birthday girl loved her present.

I can now show you one of my recent commissions.

This is Skye the Border Terrier who I made as a special birthday gift. I love how characterful Border Terrier's are. They have such cheeky little faces 😁❤️.

And I was so happy to hear that the birthday girl was delighted with her new Bo Faux friend 😍.

Things are very busy behind the scenes at the moment with special occasion commissions (which I can't share just now) and starting to prepare for this year's North East Open Studios.

However I received these lovely 'Bo Faux in situ' photos the other day of Mr Squirrel 😍.
I can't take credit for any of the other wonderful critters you see 😁. But i'm so pleased Mr Squirrel has some friends 😍.

I have really been looking forward to posting this next post.

This is Puppy the Great Dane. He was a memorial piece and a birthday present for my customers Mum. They wanted Puppy to have a more distinguished appearance and incorporate his distinctive cherry eye.

The challenge was on.

I haven't made a Great Dane before but Puppy was so enjoyable to make. His eyes were a challenge, especially his red eye because I didn't want him to look scary. The customer loved him and assured me her Mother would love him too.

Well the birthday has now passed and I have been informed there were tears 😭...
But happy ones 🥰.

This week I am mostly making.. Squirrel's 😍
(You'll only get this saying if you watched The Fast Show back in the day 😁).

One is absolutely tree-mendous and the other is a little 'nuts' 😆.

I just love their little expressions, they 'crack' me up. Ok I will stop now 😆.

I just love making Squirrels 😍
