Some foreign object jammed in the oil feed nozzle for the timing chain.

Old school method to check the clearance of the dome top pistons and the cylinder head at top dead centre.
By putting blue tack on the piston and rotating the engine , if there is any interference ie piston hitting the head it will show in the blue tack.
This piston is a higher compression so the cylinder head has to be machined for clearance.

Building an ID19 engine for a Traction, and I always weigh the pistons for an even match and there’s always one piston that’s over weight and this one is by 8 grams, I’ve removed the inner lip and only gained 4grams , so I’ve measured the D rods and found a lighter one in the set which balances out. So all pistons and rods are all the same weight.
I’ve bought a tap to recut the threads in the Crankshaft as they were damaged ( m22x 1.25 tap)

Had a run out to a car show, but wasn’t any good, so we took off and stopped for a bit to eat instead.

First run after the engine rebuild.

That’s the engine rebuilt and fitted, hopefully try and get it running tomorrow.

White metalling
