A massive thank you to everyone who came down today for Round 6 of our Summer Series. Including a brand new layout! We hope you all had a fabulous day 😁
It started cool and damp which made a pleasant change from the excessive heat we've had recently, but also played havoc with grip levels throughout practice and early qualifying rounds due to the new layout going over sections of track we've not used in a while! 🙈
It seems the new layout was generally well received, the new crossover took time to grow on people but the number of smiles we saw coming off the rostrum certainly made all the hard work worthwhile 😎 Thanks to everyone for their comments and feedback!
Nitro Qualifying
With nothing else to do we were joined by Will Skidmore which made nitro quali pretty much a foregone conclusion 🤣 it took everyone time to learn the new layout but Will cracked it and was soon pushing laptimes well under the 50s mark. He'd take 3 rounds and overall TQ. Our very own VC Joe Chew would nick a round TQ in R4 to qualify second overall with Hardwick RC Track local Jack Slassor taking 3rd.
Electric Qualifying
Philip Carrick finally got his N2 and put it to work but took time to adapt to the layout and with Nick Cox currently running electric too it would be a dominant display from Nick to take 4 rounds and overall TQ. I think we've got another 8th lover on the cards with Charlie Simmons who took his xray to round 3 TQ and kept Nick honest in second. Neil Burdess would run smooth and consistent rounds to take 3rd with Phil languishing down in 4th!
Nitro B Final
Fresh from his trip to Madrid, Jonny Skidmore would turn up and we allowed him to run from the back of the B final. Unsurprisingly he would take the win and bump into the A. We allowed two bumps thanks to numbers and to allow local members a chance to make the A also and it would be another Hardwick local keeping his young head calm to take 2nd, Jude Moralee drove an excellent race and deserved his spot in the A! Dylan Marchant would take 3rd to complete the podium
Nitro A Final
Again, to noones surprise Jonny would take the win again from the back, lapping everyone. Certainly seemed to enjoy the new features! Will would have receiver issues late on in the final dropping him from 2nd to 5th. This let Joe and Gaz Davies sneak up and grab the other podium places!
Electric A Finals
Nick's dominance continued through the finals to take the win in both legs and the overall victory! Behind it was a close battle between the other contenders. Charlie made an error early on in the first leg but brought it back to finish 2nd, meanwhile Neil would drive a superbly consistent race to take 3rd setting himself up nicely for a podium. However Phil would finally find some pace in the 2nd leg to bring it home 2nd and with Charlie in 3rd Neil slipped to 4th.

We didnt manage to get a pic of the B final as everyone had gone 🙈 but well done to everyone!
