Just think, everytime you drink a Red Bull, you could be funding corruption at the highest level.
Also Red Bull and motorcycles do not mix. The increase in the blood stream makes a very nervous tensed ride, putting yourself at risk. I don’t like any energy drink consumed before training. Other training schools also have this issue. If you drink an energy drink every day you will debunk my ideas I’m sure. The risk is yours, but like wearing shirts or not wearing a helmet. I can only advise.
On 3 September 2027, a little over a year from now, the death of a Thai policeman will legally stop mattering.
Before dawn on 3 September 2012, a Ferrari struck Police Senior Sergeant Major Wichian Klanprasert's motorcycle on Sukhumvit Road and dragged his body more than a hundred metres before driving off.
Police followed a trail of leaking fluid to one of Thailand's wealthiest compounds and found a dented car with a smashed windscreen. A man on the property said he'd been the one driving. He hadn't.
The suspect is Vorayuth Yoovidhya, grandson of Red Bull's co-founder. He was bailed within hours, and his father paid fifteen thousand dollars.
The family later paid Wichian's relatives a hundred thousand dollars. In 2024 Forbes put the family's fortune at thirty six billion.
Then the whole case came down to a single number.
Two independent teams working from CCTV put the Ferrari at 177 km/h. The limit was 80. In 2016 the police expert who produced that figure revised it to 79, just under, and no explanation was ever given for how.
In July 2020 prosecutors dropped every remaining charge. The country erupted and trended.
In April 2025 two former prosecutors were jailed, three years and two, for altering witness statements and lowering that speed in the official file.
Six other defendants were acquitted, including a former national police chief. And the same court found the 177 figure itself was weak, contradicted by other experts. That appeal is running right now.
Meanwhile the charges expired one by one. Speeding in 2013, fleeing the scene in 2017. One is left, reckless driving causing death, and it dies on 3 September 2027. Fifteen years to the day.
He has never been arrested, never tried, never convicted of anything. There is an Interpol red notice, and the trial cannot begin until somebody puts him in a room.
Red Bull's Thai parent says he never held a role there or a single share. Eight of his own extended family said publicly that they don't agree with his choices.
A man's life was settled at a hundred thousand dollars. A number in a document was worth two prison sentences. The man that number protected has never seen the inside of a courtroom.
Every country has one of these. The case where everybody knew and nothing happened.
