Just a reminder, my car is going in for a repair, and I'm away on holiday from 31st July until 10th August.

I've just put several gaps up on the Total Drive
App, which can be booked for next week by anyone as they wish.

Amazing instructor !!

Jon is absolutely amazing ! He has been such a good instructor to have, I couldn't recommend him enough. From my very first lesson he has always been calm and helpful when teaching and has really helped me with my nerves around driving and becoming a confident and knowledgeable driver ! Talk about a rollercoaster of a week! 📈

​After a cracked windscreen and three separate visits to Auto Windscreens to get the right glass fitted for the camera tech, today brought a test pass that genuinely had me welling up. 🥹

​It wasn't a first-time pass—it was their fourth attempt. But today, this pupil did something much harder than passing a test: they conquered debilitating test nerves and drove exactly how they do in normal lessons.

​This pass belongs to a brilliant team:

​My pupil, who refused to give up.

​An incredible mum, who was even out in the dark the night before practicing a Northwich roundabout to build confidence.

​The brilliant examiners at Northwich Test Centre, who kept the environment supportive and encouraging throughout.

​Teamwork makes the dream work. A huge congratulations on trading that provisional for a full driving licence! 🚘✨

📢 Important Update: Lesson Availability & Waiting List 🚗

Due to significant demand for driving lessons and the ongoing wait times for DVSA Driving Tests, I have made the decision to close my long-term waiting list.

I know many of you look to book months in advance, especially those waiting for a 17th birthday. However, because my schedule relies entirely on how fast current pupils progress and when they can book a driving test date, it’s become impossible to accurately predict my availability months down the line.

How to book from now on:

Instead of a waiting list, all immediate and short-notice lesson slots will be posted directly here on Facebook as soon as they become available.

If you're looking to start your driving journey, please make sure you like and follow Jon Hoyle - Driver Training and turn on notifications so you never miss a slot opening up.

🚗 NORTHWICH LEARNER DRIVERS 🚗

Yesterday ​the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency officially finalised their three-point plan for the biggest shake-up to driving tests in years.

If you’re learning to drive in mid-Cheshire, the "old way" of booking and swapping tests has ended. The final part of the DVSA plan was a Swap Zone" Restriction, read more below. 👇👇👇

​🗓️ 9 June 2026: The "Swap Zone" Restriction
​This is the one that affects where you can swap your driving test to, you can now only move it to your original centre or one of the 3 nearest centres. ​For Northwich (Winnington) bookings, your only swap options will be to:

​📍 Warrington
​📍 Widnes
​📍 Crewe

The other important thing to remember is that this limits the test centres that allow you to swap back to Northwich, no more booking a placeholder 100 miles away and looking for a cancellation.

​The DVSA says this will stop people "slot-hogging" in quiet areas and then swapping to local ones later. But will it make it harder for Northwich learners to find a date that works?
