Working on the next bay window interior, this time for Ant’s bus.
I can’t wait to show you the fabric choices properly for this build, for now you’ll just have to guess from this huge inside out cover for the rear bed cushion. It’s a full workout handling covers this big through the sewing machine!

Anyone that’s restored a car will know how much time and effort goes into these passion projects. Sarah and Paul are coming towards the end of restoring their beetle after nearly 5 years.

I put this interior together for them at the beginning of 2025 so it’s an absolute delight to see it all fitted to their bug now and as always it’s a privilege for me to get involved in builds like this.

The reupholstery work included:
* front seats
* rear bench
* door cards
* arm rests
* sunvisors including sourcing an original pair
* headliner

Happy driving Sarah and Paul, I can’t wait to see this back on the road.

*For sale**
A pair of early bay front seat covers in white vinyl with red fabric fat biscuit inserts and red piping.

Could these be the covers to finish up that early bay bus build you or a friend are working on?

Yours for £320 including delivery.
Drop me a message if you’re interested as I also offer a fitting service and may even look to fit these to a set of frames in a few weeks so they’re ready to just drop into your van.

A little sticker swap with Florence the F250. Thank you!

Now to find homes for some of them.

It’s not often I take on domestic upholstery jobs but I couldn’t say no to these stunning mid-century chairs.
These will be going back into one of the last remaining old houses down in Sandbanks later this month where they belong.

A small repair job for Rob Ellis. One new zip installed on his board bag to keep it going over the next few years.
It’s satisfying knowing a repair like this will keep perfectly usable kit that just needs a bit of TLC out of landfill.

In a world ever dependant on mass produced goods it’s nice to still be able to make one off items for yourself.
With Sully off to Nursery in 2 weeks I need some space on my bike for my work bits so I’ve made some 20L panniers to match my bike. Pretty much all the panniers I looked at online were black so having something a little brighter will be nice.

I over ordered material so have made the first of a few packing cubes to organise everything in my panniers.

Keep making things folks! With AI seemingly ever present in the news choosing to ignore it all and hand make things feels like rebellion!

Duncan’s collected his interior and got it all fitted ready for a camping trip tomorrow. Enjoy it Duncan!

The final few bits for Duncan’s interior all finished up last night. Foot stool, infill cushion for the spare wheel well and a panel that fit alongside the bed.
Onto something non-VW related next. 😱

I retrimmed Duncan’s bay window front seats a few months back and he immediately felt that the rest of the upholstery needed updating to match. I’ve done the RnR bed and buddy seat In a cream vinyl with contrasting orange piping and have a few further cushions to finish up this week.
